I've always thought your hips are measured at YOUR widest point, which for most people is that point at the tops of your thighs.

Have any of you ladies had a problem with certain conditioners making your hair fall out? I have been using Paul Mitchell conditioner for about the last 3 years... I've also lost a lot of my hair (literally over half the thickness it used to be) in that time period. I just chalked it up to my health problems at the time but this morning I used my mom's conditioner and hardly any of my hair fell out in the shower. I usually leave the conditioner in for a few minutes... I never really put two and two together until this morning but now I'm wondering if the pricey stuff is making my hair thin

Any good shampoo/conditioner suggestions?

whenever I was making patterns we usually consider the hip measurement 7" below the waist measurement.

So my hair is super long right now, and I am very seriously considering chopping most of it off. I HATE the way I look with short hair, so it would have to still touch my shoulders, at least a little bit. The big reason I need to cut most of it off is that it is sooo damaged, and I get giant tangles (usually right by the nape of my neck) almost daily now.

Also, I need my bangs back. They've gotta be 5+ inches by now. blegh!

I am thinking maybe one of these:

I am trying to find a good, recent picture of the current state of my hair so y'all can give me some thoughts on whether or not I should actually go through with it.

You have such beautiful bone structure...anything will look good on you. But then again, sis, I am biased. Why don't you do something like mine and have it angle down in front. That way it's off your shoulders in the back, but still long enough up front for you to feel comfortable.

ps: your cut was actually kinda what I had in mind, just maybe a half to full inch longer than what it was when I saw you last.

I suppose I could've put more thought into my name, but I just took one I used to use on an old video game. Not the most original though.

On another note, I got this cute faux fur vest for christmas that is actually very cute, not quite what I would have picked out for myself, but it's growing on me. However, I am not sure how to pull it off? I don't wanna look like I am trying too hard. Here's a pic. I'll take any ideas.

I like the furry vests with nice jeans, boots, and a fitted long sleeve tee. but then again, I'm terrible with anything style-related...

this is kinda/almost what I mean:

Don't do it! its tempting and i've done it and regretted it. I always will so i love my long hair but that cut is cute, my hair 2 years ago was like #2 a lil longer but i hated it.

I'm also of the thought that you never know how you will like something until you try it. Hair, thankfully, will grow back. I was bleach blonde for most of my life and refused to go brunette. Then when I finally tried, I didn't put blonde in my hair for over 5 years. I also had my hair halfway down my back, had it that way for over 10 yrs, and then I finally cut it to my shoulders. I loved that so much that I keep taking a little more off each time I get a cut now. I have also considered growing it back out before the wedding, but I love my cut now so much that I'm thinking either leaving it as is and figuring out a cute half-up do or just doing extensions for the wedding only. We shall see.

you may hate it like gg suggested (idk how many haircuts i've had that looked awesome in a photo but didn't work with me once i got it), but you won't know until you try it and hair will always grow back.

^ haha yep! he's our little heathen pup. cute, but evil

this is a better pic of him (clearly I like to show off the cuteness)

as far as the hair cut goes... I agree with y'all that said if I don't like it, it will grow back. I think I am going to go with about an inch past my shoulders in the front, a little shorter in the back, to start with. Baby steps, right?

Anywho, most of my hair will still be curly, and I would like to end up close to this style:

That way airdrying will only need light touching up, and I can avoid blowdrying & straightening daily. A big factor in lopping off a bunch of hair is to get it healthy again, after all. Once I get enough courage (and money) to actually go through with this, I shall post the before and afters

I wish I could get my hair to do that. But noooo, my hair is so damn straight it won't even hold a perm.

My hair is super long now too. But I'm probably going to wait till June to cut it. That way I can donate to locks of love but still have enough have to have it not super short.

I'd love to donate mine, and would even be willing to go fairly short to do so, but they'd never accept it. Too many chemicals thrown at it over time

If you cut it just past your shoulders and have layers put in, it won't feel incredibly short. I grew my hair out really long but I got to the point where I couldn't style my hair anymore (my hair is thick and curly unless I straighten it). I had my stylist take off about 4 inches and add in more layers.

It's just past my shoulders and I can still pull it all back (which is important since I work out everyday). My suggestion is to start slow. Cut 2 inches, give it a month and then see if you would like to go shorter. You might realize that cutting only a little bit is exactly what you needed.

anyone who's thinking of doing the big chop ... DO IT!! here's my hair length progression from summer 07 to now. (it's been at the current length for about a year.) sometimes in the summer I get tempted to go in the salon and say, "just cut it all off!!"

I'm obsessed with nail polish.

Zoya Nail Polish met their goal of getting 20,000 fans on Facebook so they are offering 3 free bottles of nail polish

Just pay $6.95 s&h. The nail polishes are $7 each so with the coupon, its like getting 3 bottles for less than the price of 1.

^That website is awesome!!! I found nail polishes with several of my friend's names.....funny part is the colors actually match their personalities (in my opinion). Only sucky part is they misspelled Lindsey ....per usual.

Zoya Nail Polish in Amminah (Amna is a variant of Amminah) can be best described as: A warm cream beige with strong blue-violet duochrome. An eye-catching pearly shade for a complex French manicure look.

This is totally the kind of color I would wear. I am not too adventurous. I love pearl coatings.

On a different note, I have like -2 confidence in my appearance lately.
