btw the Utica torque driver has a 1/4" hex collet, so it'll take any of the bits from the Brownell's set 1/16/2013 7:52:49 AM |

That set is really nice. I just have the cheap DAC set from Walmart. The cheap set still works really well compared to regular drivers. There were a couple of bit that were too wide (just a couple thousandths of an inch) for the screws they're intended to be used on but that's easily fixed with sandpaper or files. 1/16/2013 9:09:04 AM |

i used to be like that. once i got out of college and was no longer broke, i quickly grew tired of fiddling, fighting, and cursing with inferior equipment to try to make it work. i just love when things work how they're supposed to, i guess.
if i find myself broke again tomorrow, i'll probably revert back to the fiddling 1/16/2013 9:32:41 AM |

Yeah, I completely understand that. It really just depends on the subject. Some tools you can't skimp on, others only need a little bit of work to make right. I find myself on the extremes. My first knife making tool was a $30 1x30" harbor freight sander that needed a lot of tweaking. From there a lot of guys move into a 2x42" or a cheap 2x72" grinder but I jumped to a 2x72" KMG with variable speed controller, lol. I've got a cheap table top drill press that I inherited. I don't plan on upgrading it until it dies and then I'm sure I'll be going with something big. 1/16/2013 1:24:03 PM |

Bought my RMR last night. $444.50 on amazon. The next closest was optics planet at $467, and locally they are $525-550. Should arrive by next Wednesday. I also ordered the Ameriglow Operator Tritium Suppressor sights and threaded barrel for the Glock 35. These will also arrive by next wedensday.
Then I get to send the slide off to be machined. 1/16/2013 2:16:16 PM |

If anyone is looking for a decent .40 they have a few used Glock 22's at Lawmen's for $299 right now. Pretty dang good deal.

yeah brand new, it was the last one.
my brother actually got the deal of a lifetime from them on Monday, he got a brand new M&P Shield 9mm for $350, he was on a wait-list for it and they called him up. He probably would have paid $500 if they were asking it. I gladly paid $420 for mine from Perry's.

On another note, I have a used Ruger LCP in excellent condition that I'm looking to sell. Has about 200 rounds through it, has performed flawlessly thus far. I wouldn't be selling it if my wife weren't pissed about all the other guns I've bought recently.

If you aren't actually concerned with hiding the flash, a battle-comp/dynacomp, bennie cooley or miculek brake. I have seen and heard all of those, and shot 3 of the 4.

I haven't shot anything but the A2 so I really don't know the difference. I heard the vortex flash hider was shown not to negatively impact accuracy but I am definitely open to other ideas, would love to be educated on the subject.
Was also thinking of an AAC hider/comp in case I get a can later

what about a Noveske flash hider?
has the structure of a suppressor, but it only has one baffle so it doesn't do any suppressing, and it's not NFA. comes apart for cleaning 1/18/2013 9:44:29 PM |

anyway, I probably wouldn't put it on an 18" barrel, it's about 3.5" long, meant for SBRs 1/18/2013 10:31:47 PM |

i'm just telling you what i've seen. remember that 9" AK i mentioned a few months ago? the one that doesn't really have a purpose besides being a fun gun?
with nothing on the barrel, that thing shoots flames 2 or 3 feet... with the noveske, nothing but smoke. 1/18/2013 11:37:30 PM |
