Regardless, some people aren't going to be happy if she fires him after a 5 win ACC schedule. Some people will give as many reprieves as possible to an alum as coach. Just look at the people who were mad that Chuck Amato wasn't allowed a farewell curtain call and speech after getting trashed by ECU in his last game.

If we make the NCAA tournament this year, I will gladly buy any article of pro-Sidney Lowe clothing anyone can dig up for me. And I'll never post in this thread again.

its fine to be optimistic or pessimistic or whatever, but i just think its dumb to think anything is a foregone conclusion before the season pans out

December is the time when you discuss what football coaches should be fired, hired, given extensions, etc...because the football regular season is already over

calling for Lowe to be fired now is like calling for a football coach to be fired after a 1-2 start

he did big things at Winthrop and he has steadily improved Wichita State since taking over that bottom feeder:

2007-08: 11-20 (4-14)
2008-09: 17-17 (8-10)
2009-10: 25-10 (12-6)
2010-11: 8-2 (losses to #4 UConn and #10 San Diego St)

Last year at the beginning of the year, I was on Sid's case a lot, but as things started getting rolling, I let off. During the worse times, a lot of the players were saying that coach was giving them the right thing to do, but they just weren't getting it done. Things started to click, so I thought "ok, maybe they weren't just trying to cover coaches ass".

Then this year, I've continued to let off because the freshman were always going to need time to develop. Then Tracy got hurt. But there were so many fundamental problems that occurred this game that I've seen time and time again from Lowe.

My biggest beef this year is downright terrible substitutions. Part of that stems from the fact that Lowe has a fucking AWFUL offensive scheme. For instance, when Lorenzo (who was our leading scorer for much of the game) is turning the ball over too much, he just yanks him, because he sees no use for him unless he's handling the ball a ton. Same goes for CJL and rebounding. Shooting poorly, but rebounding like a beast, so he yanks him. I guess we have no use for consisten rebounding. Instead he'll throw in someone like Painter who just shuts the bed down low whenever he plays a team that isn't complete shit. Why Howell wasn't in more than 16 minutes boggles the mind. He's the only other one of the team (besides Tracy) that can come down with the ball strong, and the only other one who can make strong post moves. Overall, He just has zero clue how to utilize his players to get the most from them.

Beyond substitutions, the other main problem on offense is that none of our guys set a screen like they're playing a live gave, other than CJL. Even though I think Vandenberg is better than most people think, the kid can't screen a man to save his life. It think Painter had one good screen tonight. I'm sorry, but when there is only one person who can make a halfway decent screen, that's coaching.

I won't even get in to defense much, because there was just so much wrong. The spacing on our zone was god awful, and I thought that a zone was the only way to effectively negate their killer screening ability. Man to man, our guys were just being woven in to a massive knot, which always left one of their guys wide open. Also in man, they got us on a pick and roll more than I could count. So pathetic that the most elementary of basketball moves got them a ton of baskets.

I'm sure there's more, but I'm too pissed off to keep writing, and the Packers/Pats game is too exciting to be venting on here about Sid.
