They are, but no one else is advertising for them and there are a ton of phone ads. T-Mobile is going hard on 4G, AT&T is pushing WP7/Atrix during NCAA commercial breaks, and Verizon is pushing the Thunderbolt. If it weren't for Apple pushing their ads (which are smug as hell) an Apple product would only show up on the random AT&T/Verizon commercials (voice and data vs. network coverage).

I suppose they're stuck advertising the iPhone though, since the iPad is pretty heavily backordered and generally you want to advertise something people can actually walk into a store and buy.

I agree. I mean, I dislike Apple in general (despite dealing with their products constantly) but ads like those really don't help matters.

They need to hurry up and release the iPhone 5. My 3GS is barely hanging on...the microphone doesn't work, so I have to use an earpiece or speakerphone...and the screen intermittantly stops responding to touch. I'm just trying to make-do for the last couple of months.

There were tons of rumors and reports this week that the iPhone5 won't be coming out in June/July like the first 4 have. Supposedly the WWDC where they usually announce it is gonna be software only this year (iOS5) and Apple hasn't even ordered the parts from China yet or finalized a prototype. Most people are saying it is looking like a holiday release for the iPhone5.

Makes sense if you think about it. With the iPods now running a modified iOS, the iPhone and the iPad, they probably want to sync up the releases to stop the OS fragmentation (where each device is running a different version until 4-6 months down the line when a new update comes out for both. Since iPods have always been in the fall, the iPad 2 was just released and the iPhone 4 just hit VZW and the LTE roll out isn't quite here yet, and the fact that iPods and iPads both make good xmas gifts a fall / holiday release seems like the best time if you're going to sync them up.

They may also be trying to cut down on the number of people singing up for WWDC just to see the newest hardware.

Well the good news is that your baseband is unlockable without having to upgrade to the iPad baseband that effs up the GPS. Be sure not to upgrade without preserving your baseband.

It looks like there's an untethered jailbreak available that allows you to preserve your baseband. I haven't used this one tho, so can't speak to its success.

But all you need to do is jailbreak while preserving your baseband then download and run Ultrasn0w from Cydia and you'll be good to go. You can even get a tweak for SBsettings that allows you to toggle Ultrasn0w on and off easily.

The screen "tilt" is a Google thing, not an Apple thing.

I get that effect on my webOS 2.1 Palm Pre 2. Load up google.com, type "tilt" into the search bar.

In my iphone it says that I'm using 2.1gb of space for "Apps" when it shows no more than 50mb worth. Where is all the space usage coming from? How to do I free up all that space? I tried deleting internet history/cookies/cache, etc. Just seems to be growing and being more annoying.

Sometimes if you sync it'll clear stuff like that out. You could try the power button + home button reset thing too. That's all I know

Anything stored by those apps count as well. Movies for apps like VLC, pics, PDF files, books, etc. all show up under apps if they're not one the standard apps (iPod, videos, iBooks, photos app, etc.).
