He'll get more offers, I do expect he'll probably consider opening things up, esp. if we had any type of coaching change with Doeren or Barlow(his main recruiter).

The only recent commits I recall decommitting and going to Clemson were Gibson and Priester. Gibson decided to transfer after his redshirt freshman season and Priester got kicked off his freshman year, so not sure either were big losses.

Neither of those are "decommits" either. I think dd has only had a couple his whole time here. One of those, this year, committed and decommitted 2-3 times so didn't really seem like dd's fault.

We did have a run where we consistently lost 4* players to Clemson, but that's not going to change any time soon.

Plus that kid is from VA, I think it's more likely that a team like Tennessee or VT would go after him than Clemson. Clemson just loves to raid NC of their talent.

ehh...in what way did we "lose" Dexter Lawrence? he committed to the national runner up instead of to a very mediocre 7-6 team. clemson is gonna get that level of recruit over us 9/10 times over us, even when that recruit is from NC - Clemson isn't that far away if you're talking about the geography of it.

how so? Per 247, Gibson committed to us in June 2013, decommitted in August 2013, then committed to Clemson less than a week later. Priester committed to us in October 2012 and flipped to Clemson in January 2013.

don't know much about the recruit, but nice. there doesn't appear to be a ton of information on him at this point. he's listed on Rivals as CB/ATH

also saw where QB committ Matt McKay tweeted something about being a solid commit and having no interest in other schools. that's good to hear, even if it doesn't hold much weight.

I think McKay is solid, for instance UGA tried recruiting him and he apparently shut that shit down.

He's attending camps/combines and such just recruiting for us. Obviously if we take another QB he might re-think things, and apparently we are recruiting at least a few QBs.

got a commit from 3* CB jacobe clement. he's from mallard creek. had offers from clemson, unc, tennessee, vt, and others.

fourth year in a row getting at least one commit from Mallard Creek (2017 DT Grant Gibson is from there too). they've also got two OLs we're after this year.

Scout ranks him as #39 CB nationally. 247 has him as #18 NC recruit in his class and #48 CB nationally, their composite rankings are #22 and #67 respectively.

sounds like this guy had a knee injury last season and some of those schools previously mentioned may have backed off their original offers after the injury. so we stayed loyal to our offer and i guess that was a big thing for him.

commitment yesterday from 2017 DE Xavier Lyas from Durant HS (FL). think he is a 2* everywhere but sounds like he is a late bloomer (he's 6'5" with a 4.8 forty, reportedly gained quite a bit of height over the past year) so who knows. guess if the coaching staff saw him at camp and was willing to take his commitment this early, that's a good thing.
