Any man who says he doesn't initially judge a female solely by her looks is a liar. However, a secondary rating comes into play when you get the know the individual. So if the first scale is 100% looks, then the second scale is 70% looks, 20% cooking skill and 10% personality. So looks are always going to be paramount, but you can make up some ground if you're fun to talk with or a regular Ina Garten in the kitchen.

Coming from personal experience, don't ever even try to know exactly what happened. Because no matter what, everyone will have somewhat of a different story. And regardless of what happened between two parents, the thing you need to be concerned about right now is how it impacted the kids and their relationship with the parents. If I were you, I would state very clearly from the get go that you don't want to hear his side (and even go as far to say the same thing to your mom if you don't want any old stuff cropping up). Getting into all that shiz is just going to make it more confusing and more difficult for y'all to move on and get to know each other

honestly, you should have done it. if she tried that many times then she clearly wasn't into being engaged. laying with her may have provided the incident she needed to get out of a marriage she definitely doesn't want to be in, removing 50 years of hell.

ALTERNATIVELY

I saw some movie with Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock this weekend where he thought he wanted to escape for someone more fun and entertaining and was ready to bail. After he cheated he met up with his fiance to call off the wedding. He got there and realized that he loved his fiancee and did want to get married. If he had not had that incursion, his doubts would have remained and potentially caused trouble later on.

either way, my thoughts are you should have done it.
