nobody that honestly has a clue is going to remain in an environment like that for long

letting idiots answer eachothers dumb googlefodder questions incorrectly isn't doing them any bit of good

and as more users come to the site and fewer technically apt users remain in tech talk and more idiots get the impression that it's open season on stupidity, it'll continue to degrade in posting quality

if the sort of idiocy that was par for tech talk was attempted in the garage or chit chat even they'd get fucking laughed and flamed off the internet... much less corrected productively and politely... but nobody that knows better even reads tech talk to comment on the apparent room temperature IQ breakdown... because it's so foul

tech talk in its present form isn't just pointless, it's couterproductive.
