Yeah I was actually praying Hodge wouldn't shoot the ball... he's got a terrible shot, and usually the inbounds play is "Everyone get the ball to Hodge even though he's being guarded by 5 people and everyone else is wide open"

and that really worked there illian had the shot and maby even a foul if he goes up with that. Hodge would have gone up and drawn a foul especially the way that those refs were calling fouls.( Engins touch one on the like second to last play).,...... ha ya but i have confidence he would have made one. at least we would have a chance in OT.

Evtimov is a passer and a shooter.

Under no circumstance do you want him driving the lane as time expires.

It's not the correct situation for him.

He doesn't have the athleticism to create a good shot in that situation.

I would have been much more comfortable with Bennerman driving the lane and kicking out to an open Evtimov if he couldn't get a good shot.

That being said Hodge needs the ball in that end game situation. He's the best player we have when it comes to drawing contact and getting to the basket.

Rick Barnes had Clemson.... CLEMSON.... to a top 10 ranking in what?... 4 years?.


He took Texas...a football school, to 6 straight NCAA tournaments his first 6 years. He's been to the sweet sixteen for the past 3 seasons, including the Final Four.

That "look where we started" stuff got old 5 years ago. I realize we weren't in the best of shape, but it's been long enough to turn a program around. We've gotten better, but not anywhere near where we should be if we'd try

Come on people, Miami wasn't a bad team. We hit our three's and Hodge was off his game with a bad back. Estimov should have taken that last shot driving the lane and drawing a foul or making it. Just a bad call. Miami gave GaTec all it could handle the other night IN ATLANTA. We must win at home and 5 on the road. This one just got away!

to the herb smokers - he is a mediocre coach. if you are satisfied with making the tournamwnt and losing in the second round every year, then keep herb. he recruits good talent, yes - but he does not develop it. if you like middle of the road acc contender and 1st rount losses in march, then keep herb.

to those who say "herb isn't the one shooting the ball" - well, he kinda is. because: he could do something about it when the players settle for the 3. when all we do is start jacking up 3s he could tell the team not to take them anymore. we are not a good 3 shooting team. we are much better at slashing to the basket. poor shooting, while not all, is mostly herbs fault.

because teams have to respect are ability and willingness to shoot the 3. that's how our offense works. it requires balance to be successful. too little of one aspect is detrimental to the other.

I hope Fowler doesn't give Herb a lifetime contract. We made an important step into the 3rd round of the tournament, but most of what preceeded last weekend was disappointing.

We seem to miss an extraordinary amount of layups in these disasters. Maybe Herb can stress the use of the backboard next season.
