apoc is probably the most powerful x-men villian, aside from maybe xavier's son (forgot his name) but he is def not a badass and he wouldn't make for that great of a movie

i think maybe inclusion of the morlocks might make for an ok movie

I think Apoc would be awesome....and he doesn't have to be a machine-like character or anything. He can just be some badass in some armor that looks like Apoc. And yes, it could be turned into a trilogy, how successful it can be depends on the storylines of course. But i can see 1) Apoc showing up, beating up Magneto, recruits Mystique away from Erik, ultimately able to kidnap Angel from the Xmen and brainwash him 2)Apoc turns Angel into Archangel and big fight sequence with Xmen trying not to hurt Angel and Apoc eventually gains the upper hand until an unknown character blasts him from the back leading to Apoc's retreat 3)Cable's here to get rid of Apoc where eventually Archangel remembers who he is with Professor X's help ending with Apoc and Cable being killed in some huge blast.

sometimes comic book elements should stay in comic books

apocalypse and any other over fanastical element just doesn't work in a live action movie

it would be just like the uniforms...vibrant red, white, blue, yellow costumes aren't cool in real life

remember what happen with Super Mario Bros.?

apoc is just too all-powerful and outlandish for the movie to work well. he would be just as bad as having the shiar empire show up, or mojo suck them to his world

i still think a sentinels/hellfire club theme in the movie would be the best

No, seriously.... Apocalypse does not belong in the X-MEN movies. Frankly, I don't want to see any of these elements show up in the franchise:

Apocalypse
Cable
Stryfe
Bishop
"Days of Future Past"
The Brood
Mr Sinister
The Shi'ar
Madelyne Prior
The Savage Land
"Age of Apocalypse"
Archangel
Juggernaut
"Inferno"
Psylocke as an English woman trapped in an Asian body
The third Summers brother
Anything involving space or time travel
Arcade
Mojo, the Mojoverse, Longshot, et al

Things that I do think would suit themselves well to the X-MEN movie franchise:
"Mutant Massacre"
The Morlocks
Genosha
Sentinels
The Mutant Registration Act
The Hellfire Club, Emma Frost, Sebastian Shaw
Dazzler
Beast
Storm losing her powers
Havok
Omega Red if they tie his origin in with Professor X
Muir Island, Moira MacTaggert, Legion
"Proteus Saga"

i think juggernaut could work will so long as they change his origin

no Crimson Jewel of Cyttorak or whatever it was called, just a straight up mutant

and his invulnerablity made him invulnerable to aging, so they could use him as X's brother

genosha would be good, muir island maybe

KRAKOA? More like KRAKNOA [/davidspade]

And if I were going to do Havok, I think I'd introduce him as a mutant magistrate working for Genoshan government and not reveal him to be Cyclops' brother until midway through the movie.

Oh, please...I hope they leave Gambit out of it. He has to be the worst of the X-Men. Absolutley the dumbest character to join the X-men.

I agree that Gambit is lame as an X-Man. I can see using him in the movies, but not as a part of the team. I think he works much better as either a villian or strictly the loner that he is by design.

its simply poor business to leave gambit out of the movie all together.

and really, it's a dumb idea to keep him in a minor role...

That just doesn't make a whole lot of sense if they are doing "Dark Phoenix Saga." That's story's really more about Cyclops than it is Jean Grey.

that shit has got to be wrong (the less-cyclops part)
just like its slowly coming out that Angel shit is bogus...

i think magneto needs to magically become younger eric somehow

i mean, i  ian mckellan, but if this thing is gonna go beyond a trilogy, which it should, we need young blood...hell, jean grey(famke) will be 40 by the time the third one drops - not that we need to get rid of her too...

I heard Halle Berry wasn't going to do the movie unless they made her role in the movie alot bigger. So expect a more involved STORM plotline...

Speaking of accents Rouge loses her accent quite alot in the movies as well.

Also, the whole Angel is a girl thing has to be fake. They wouldn't shit on fans that badly . . . I hope.

Colossas wasn't Russian in X2... so i dont think they're really following the comics that closely

not at all true. gambit is enormously possible with anyone who saw the old saturday morning cartoon, or played the video games, or even new about x-men. the ragin cajun is probably one of the most popular x-men.

And Iceman is a kid. Wolverine helps Rogue. No Beast or Angel. Sabretooth, Mystique, and Toad working for Magneto. The list goes on.

well
technically

bobby drake was a "kid" when prof x first brought him in

mystique has worked for magneto

toad def worked for magneto

wolverine helping rogue isn't that outlandish since he is basically like a father to the girl in the original books, and is like a big brother to rogue in the ultimate-books

and you're right, girl angel is plausible
but i'm pretty sure it ain't happening

(FINGERS CROSSED)

hey i just found this looking for some stuff:
Quote :
"In the first scene where we see Stryker, where he is fingering the stab mark on the President's desk, he appears to have on a ring with the Hellfire Club's (from the comics) trident symbol."

anybody seen this?
could be interesting...

^^Toad was an original member of the brotherhood (along with Mastermind, Quicksilver, Scarlett Witch) with Magneto as its leader.

^I read somewhere about strykers ring and that it was either a masonic symbol, an anti-semetic symbol, or anti-muslim. There was actually a muslim group that boycotted/protested X2 because they cited all these subtle anti-muslim signal from stryker (although if that is true...he's the villain...so)

I wasn't aware that Wolverine helped Rogue out in the old books, thanks.

I meant if Bobby was a kid, than all the other 4 should've been kids too(Jean, Cyclops, Beast, and Angel)

And I knew that Mystique and Toad had worked for Magneto, its just them together with Sabertooth was an awfully odd combination to have at the same time.

No actually it was always made pretty clear that he was a few years younger than Cyke, Jean, and Angel who were about the same age, and that Beast was a few years older than the rest. More recently Bobby has been portrayed as only a year or two older than the oldest of the original New Mutants (Sam and Karma).

Of course the movie has made the gap of a few years between Cyke/Jean who are apparently late-twenties even greater. But I wouldnt say its altogether baseless, Rouge/Iceman/Collosus appear to be the oldest of the "kids" in the movie.

Yeah this is the storyline that made me stop reading for a while, no need to revisit it. Besides they hinted all the bad that Prof X could do at the end of X2 no need to come back to that for a while at least.

edit: it was in X2, played by Steve Bacic

Onslaught was the whole reason why I stopped reading X-books (and all comics except Deadpool, for that matter) altogether. It could have been a decent idea, but I just thought it was very poorly executed. During all the years I read the X-books, I have to say I still enjoyed The Age of Apocalypse most of all.

For the next movue, I feel like the logical direction to travel in would involve the Sentinels. They've already done fairly well about building the "humans fear us" aspect into the story, so I think Sentinels would make for an excellent next level. Oh wait, except for the fact that Dark Phoenix somehow worked her way into it. Ugh. I still despise that...

From the creative team that brought you CATWOMAN! Halle Berry stars as Storm! Cinnamon Thunder was just a normal all-american carribean princess until a freak lightning storm transformed her into the ancient St. Lucian goddess of weather: STORM. Also starring Lucy Liu as Jubilee her spunky young photojournalist turned super-heroine side-kick armed only with her wits, post-hypnotic ninja training, and the most sophistcated demolitions technology stolen from the US Government. The unlikley pair must stop a vast government conspiracy to use the weather to control the population of stray animals. With a special guest appearance by Lou Diamond Phillips as Forge, the misunderstood scientific genius who loves her. Coming Summer 2009!
