lvl 9.5 monk/mes right now

Unlocking spells and shit. Missions are fucking cool, that one with the catapults was hilarious.

Was contemplating a Ranger/Mezmer.

All ranged based attacks for the most part. A pet.

Am I correct in thinking this would be one of the best debuffer combinations? Rangers get poison and skills that reduce abilities while a mezmer has spells out the ass for the same reason.

Or would a Mezmer/Ranger be better?

I swear this combination stuff is given me a headache. I am one of those people who like to start with something and stick with it. And I dont want to figure out later down the road that there is a better choice that what I chose for a certain way of fighting

It seems.....that PvP you cant have beast mastery to be effective. But PvE is mainly where you want to use it.

yeah it really isn't too hard to level which is the fun part.. plus as you unlock any skills/items you can use them in the PvP build to test character stuff out

I'm finding Ranger/Mesmer to be pretty damn good so far... especially considering I haven't unlocked many deeper ranger skills.. but you can survive well and drop people in a hurry and be a total bitch (mesmer spells)

I started as a warrior and tried other trainer's skills... mesmer was my favorite.

I like the whole "you give me 5 mana and I'll take 60 health... thank you!"

I WANT TO PLAY BUT I CANT! I got the game and played almost non-stop for 4 days... I'm only level 7.5, but I've got friends that are gunna play and I want to make a guild with them, but I dont wanna be a crazy high level and have to wait on them for a long time. I also dont want to travel to the "new world" without a guild of some sort.

at 7 the new world should be a sinch for the first areas - especially with some henchmen

you can always make a new character to play with anyone just starting

Ranger/Monk is very good for doing damage vs warriors (high armor), Judge's Insight (mo skill) gives your attacks armor penetration.

err where should i go at 7. i did the above the wall with some guy but besides the 1 quest to retreive the guy i had no clue where to go. saw a ton of grawl but the combo of only being able to have 2 ppl in the party and them all being lvl 8 (were hitting me pretty hard) was kinda rough. my partner was a lvl 5 healer so perhaps thats why it was so bad, but shrug. is there a town up there or am i missing some other zone?

I finally broke down and got the game.

Working on a "vampire build" or technically, a N/W with a skill concentration in blood magic and sword mastery. I rule.

If you want to join my guild, send me a message in game, my username is "Anheben der Toten" and my guild is "Das Leistungsfaehige."

yeah I just got it. I really like the seamless feel of the game.....it's real quirky. I'm a Me/N Lv. 6. I'm not sure if i should go ahead and hit the sear or not

Also, am I the only one that thinks that battle sounds are weird? There's all these fizzles and booming pops that sound unnatural.

it just moves fast and slick. at least for me. Great presentation, wonderful FPS, fast load times, you pop across the map quick and jumping through menus is fast as hell.

You can only use 8 skills at a time, so 100000 buttons aren't needed.

yeah the UI is actually good, simple and effective. The only issue i have with the game is that too much of ascalon just looks the same, possibly b/c it got so thrashed...

I just made it to Yak's Bend so its nice to be in a new territory all together

So I am not even into the moutains yet, mainly because I want to do all the missions before I leave an area, and I have noticed on the maps online, that there is ALOT of shit to do after the mountains.

how is buying an expansion ($30) every 2 months to get all the new content any different than paying $15/month for other mmorpgs?

5/17/2005 5:57:37 PM

ncstatepimp

because with other mmorpgs you ALSO buy expansions + pay a monthly fee. gee, that was hard to think about.... moron

Also, most mmorpgs draw out expansion pack dates as long as possible to collect on their monthy fees without releasing much new content. With Guild Wars setup, the only time you have to spend more money, is when you are getting much more new content.

I cant wait to get to the jungle and the desert. The enemies will become not monotonous again.

And you will be able to actually craft weapons maybe?

I have the jaguar from presearing as my pet. Are certain animals better than other? aka the lizard mentioned above
