^^ Dude.
Greek Wedding.
Although the single busiest day Madstone ever did was with Bubba Ho-Tep, Monster, and some other stuff.

Yeah, I was going to say hey but I refuse to ever be like OMG ARE YOU FROM TWW?!? Ever.
Well, March of the Penguins is incredibly popular (for whatever that's worth). And My Summer of Love is supposed to be pretty good, but I haven't seen it myself. Muderball's also pretty good. It's a documentary about a team of wheelchair-bound rugby players.
What I'm really psyched about is The Best of Youth, which we're getting next week, but it's not for the faint of heart as it clocks in at a little over six hours. It's supposed to be beautiful, though, and it's not supposed to feel that long. We'll see. 8/8/2005 12:46:58 AM |

I really want to see this........... but I have to confess, comparisons to Garden State are kinda turning me off the idea. Ill probably get flack for it, but i seriously thought that movie was maudlin and contrived. Best thing about it was the soundtrack. 8/10/2005 9:59:44 PM |
Woodfoot All American 60354 Posts user info edit post |
IT IS NOT 2005'S ANSWER TO GARDEN STATE
don't listen to people when they say that about the film
when i said "i'm tempted to say this could easily be this year's "Garden State"", i was referring to the buzz, because several big name popculture rags were touting it, but i don't think it will get near enough roll out to be anything like garden state
plus, miranda july is not on a very funny tv show that people feel cool saying they watch but couldn't tell you what night it came on last season 8/10/2005 11:14:02 PM |

^hey, how did the movie do last weekend @ galaxy?
you think it will be around longer than just 2 weeks? 8/11/2005 12:36:41 PM |
spookyjon All American 21682 Posts user info edit post |
It did okay, but there was a misprint in the News and Observer on Friday that really hurt us. They showed the Thursday schedule, which of course did not feature Me and You at all. We called them and were like OMG U GUYS WTF and they were lik OMG WTF INDEED WE WILL FIX IT FOR TOMORROW BUT SUNDAY HAS ALREADY BEEN PRINTED. So the only day the N&O had it this weekend was Saturday.
That being said, it still did pretty well. I am going to do my best to keep it here at least another two weeks, maybe more. I wouldn't be surprised if we did more business this week than last. 8/11/2005 12:40:31 PM |

well i havent seen any of that so i was just making a call based on her appearance. i go for a lot of the "non-mainstream" look often when finding women attractive but she just doesnt do it for me 8/24/2005 1:22:05 AM |

I saw this movie earlier tonight and it definitely held my interest, but it never wowed me. I liked the characters well enough and a lot of the stuff in that movie is just... well, weird, but I enjoyed it. I arrived about ten minutes late (damn you galaxy for not drowning us in trailers like everyone else) so when if there's some twist like "The old man's an assassin working for the CIA" (j/k) I missed it. But you guys haven't mentioned a twist.
When I came in the theater, the dad was selling Miranda July (pretty by normal people standards, marginally attractive by Hollywood standards) shoes, saying "We accept foot pain" or something like that. If someone wants to fill me in on what I missed via PM, I'd appreciate it.
BTW, that "back and forth" thing is not something I would've thought of in a million years. Just when I thought I've heard everything... 9/4/2005 6:03:54 AM |
