saw 2.55/gal for 87 yesterday at Hillsborough Rd. in Durham. Those mofo's even figured that an extra .20/gal for the high-test was actually gonna sell, too: 2.75/gal for 93.

yikes.

uh, 20 cents extra per gallon is pretty standard for high test

what I don't get it why it stays at 20 cents extra.

I mean. When gas was 1.00 a gallon (6 years ago) it would be 10 bucks for regular or 12 for 93 (I usually buy 10 gallons)

At 2.00 a gallon, its 20 bucks for regular, and 22 for 93.

What was a 20% increase, is only a 10% increase. And now that its like 2.50 a gallon, the increase is even smaller, percentage wise.

I still put in regular most of the time, but I think once it hits 3.00 a gallon, if its still a 20 cent increase I'll be switching to premium. I get about 2-3 mpg more out of premium the few times I've used it. Some of that might just be from differences in driving.

near my place, most mid and high test stuff goes for less than that 20 cent margin... more like 15.

but i also am curious why it doesn't scale with the increased price, like ^

interesting

If you qualify, you can get a Citibank Prefered card that gives you 5% back on gas/pharmacy/grocery charges that can be used to get gas cards.

why not buy premium? unless you use it and your car runs noticibly worse why not run it?

cause it costs $.10/gal more than mid-grade or $.20/gal more than regular? even if you use 15 gallons to fill up thats only $1.50 - $2.00 more! CMON YOU CHEAP ASSHOLES JUST BUY THE PREMUIM, K?

cause it doesnt help shit and is an utter waste of money (although a relatively small amount) in some cars

the basis of my argument is in some cars there is no difference, thus there is no reason to waste the money on it

if your car runs better on it, by all means, it's not a waste, use it.

$2.89 regular/ $2.99 mid/ $3.09 premium here in Charlotte now - Oil/gas companies have become greedy bastards lately imo. It is nearly inconceivable that gas is twice as expensive to produce/deliver now than it was this time last year.

on the way to lunch today, we saw a few places where it was b/w 2.98-2.99. we passed one gas station where it was 2.65 and commented how we should stop and fill up. by the time we passed on the way back to work (30 minutes later) the price was 2.95.
