When I turned 16, my parents bought me a Ford Explorer. Very nice of them, yes... But, the car I have now (altima SL) fits my 9' longboard way better than my explorer did. So the 'SUVs have more room' argument is bollucks. Cars do just as well on a craggy NC roads. Unless its muddy of course and there is a rather large crater in which we need to traverse. SUVs are most definitely purchased way more for ego fulfillment than for practicality, yes. However, aren't regular cars as well? All these people are flaunting their "economic brilliance" in purchasing the car rather than the SUV when it is somewhat of a feeble argument. My money says they either a) didn't have enough money for the SUV or B) have a fully loaded sedan to meet their egos halfway, or C) both. Yes, people with SUVs are definitely paying more right now. But instead of laughing and pointing a finger, we should be happy with our choices or at the very least keep our mouths closed because when winter comes around and we end up in the ditches, I'm sure we'll have the same laughter resonating in our ears.
