i know exactly who you're talkin about, i've had three classes with him. he's got black hair, a goofy ass uneven beard, always has that laptop and calculator watch, sits in the front row and annoys the fuck out of the professor with stupid irrelevant questions...not to mention arguing the obvious and/or arguing and obviously wrong point. i hate that kid; he's the nerd that nerds laugh at.

luckily though he's in CSC and after sophomore year us EE kids stop sharing classes with them. so i got to get away from that kid and that other guy with the insanely high voice who acts the same way (jay felds, though we always called him susan). i kindof miss susan though, he was stupid in a kindof endearing way. that other kid straight blows.

if its a blatant error, i applaud correcting the prof. like my DiffyQ prof had his axes messed up on a sketch so i pointed it out. people were like jsut stfu, but it changed the whole problem.

didn't someone develop a random number generator that used Brownian motion of electrons in one of the hardware components as the seed? that seems random to me, if i remember the story correctly. not that that would ever be used in consumer-level computers, but i'm just pointing out that, as far as i remember, a truly random number generator has actually been developed.

you may have misunderstood what i meant. it wasn't simulating brownian motion, it had sensors hooked up to measure or quantify some component of brownian motion coming from electrons, and was using that as the seed to generate a random number. if one uses a truly random seed, you can conceivably create a truly random number generator.
