So you all's solution to a screaming 8 month old is to hit it? I'm glad the vast majority of you are not parents. 10/31/2005 7:44:44 AM |

I'm personally speaking about toddlers and children who are old enough to know better than to scream in public. Or at least who should know better.
I can understand people not being able to find babysitters and having to bring their babies along with them to restaurants on occasion, I guess. But honestly, if the kid starts screaming and can't be calmed down, the parent should take him to the restroom or somewhere else to handle things instead of ignoring the problem and making everyone else have to listen to it. Having children means that you sacrifice some of your own personal comfort, and sometimes that means having to leave your meal for your child. 10/31/2005 1:26:12 PM |

I sometimes wonder if the children would be better behaved if they had gotten a nap before going out. 10/31/2005 1:35:21 PM |

^^too many people these days forget that
parenting = sacrifice
your dinner might not be warm by the time you come back from outside but my dinner isn't ruined by your loud child
and you might ask "why does my dinner matter more?" because i haven't made a decision to sacrifice my enjoyment for the next generation
and until i do, fuck off toddler 10/31/2005 1:41:30 PM |

Man, wait till you guys start paying property tax and you figure out that some of that money goes to public schools - even if you don't have children.
So how old is old enough? 10/31/2005 2:52:35 PM |

I don't just dislike the kids that are brought out screaming their heads off, but I also can't stand when a parent brings their kid out and it throws everything everywhere. It's disgusting. It's rude, and 90% of the time they don't even leave a decent tip. I use to like kids before I started working in a restaurant... then I learned how gross they are... or rather, how gross their parents let them be. And it's not even just when I am serving that it bothers me... I don't want to see someone else's gross nasty habits when I am trying to enjoy a meal or have my ear screamed off. Get a baby sitter if it is that important for you to go out. I'm actually embarassed for these people. 10/31/2005 2:57:59 PM |
