I never thought I'd hear the term "reach-around" on primetime television.

The Sunday night episode was classic. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. The drinking game on the ship was the best part. I also liked when they were on the raft made from inflatable dolls, and Quagmire says "Be careful...the slightest prick will pop them....giggity..."

So I only caught the part of last nights where they got on the plane and went to South America. Seemed pretty funny, hate I missed the first part. The very end where Meg is left was by far the funniest.

And surprisingly to me, American Dad was pretty good last night. I haven't watched a full episode in a long time and there were some jokes on par with Family Guy.

Yeah, American Dad's definitely getting better.

Family Guy was good but it seems like they put Meg down constantly these days.

i haven't seen last night's episode yet (have to rely on BT here in germany), but some common threads that are emerging are that 1) yes, Meg has just turned into a punching bag for the whole family and 2) Louis has been the central character (or at least more prominent) for several episodes, with her becoming a model, doing drugs, getting married to brian.... eh, i dunno - obviously Meg and Louis are the 2 most uninteresting and unfunny main characters, but as long as Stewie and Brian continue with their "outrageous antics" i'll be happy

You mean Lois!

Show is still good to watch, but is going downhill I believe and I love Family Guy as much as anyone. American Dad is also getting better. Part where Roger was hanging himself was pretty good.

Lois can be pretty damn hilarious IMO.

Yeah Lois definitely has her moments. I do think, though, that the conclusion of the episode where Lois married Brian means that the show's going to have to drop the whole "Brian loves Lois" angle.

I will also agree that the writers have been ripping pretty hard into Meg as of late. Perhaps they don't know what else to do with her besides the whole teenage melo-dramatic angst thing.

Finally, I can care less what Family Guy does, just as long as Brian and Stewie keep doing their thing.

Yeah I thought the whole Bewitched scene was one of the best written ones I've ever seen on the show. Proof that you don't need dialogue for funny scenes.

one of my favorite parts last night was when Chris was getting paddled and they did the entire scene from Dazed and Confused. Brilliant.

The Bewitched reference was just completely stupid. The asides in Family Guy used to flow so well with the episodes, but now they just competely jump train.

Bah, the show still isn't so bad, but they have started to resort to gag episodes (ie Lois and Brian, Meg is hot, etc). And dammit, Stewie is no longer a smart evil baby. He is now an intelligent person trapped in a baby's body. His jokes are stale.

^^^^I just finished d/ling from torrentspy.

Stewie's "take over the world and kill Lois" schtick was pretty weak anyway. The character really hit his stride when he started having it out with Brian, blatantly insulting the other characters, and exhibiting hints of homosexuality.

They have Meg so the family can pick on her and diss her all the time. That shit is hilarious.

I liked the bewitched/will farrell scene, even though it was predictable. That dude does need a punch in the face because he isn't funny at all.

I find the cameos and references as entertaining as the humor. If that means I am someone who analyzes things rather than morbidly slothing through life with a blank expression, so be it.

it means the joke flew over your head and made a "whoosh" sound.
while I think the verbing of that word is a little shallow and pedantic, I agree with the sentiment.

from the episode where peter wins the game of Trivial Pursuit
http://www.brokenbinder.com/fg/petarded.htm

Quote :
"
1st Pundit: The administration’s plan for peace in the Middle East is shallow and pedantic.
2nd Pundit: I agree, shallow and pedantic.
Peter: I agree, as well. Shallow and pedantic.

Act I, Scene III
Later that night at dinner.

Peter: Hmmmm
Lois: (concerned) Everything alright, Peter?
Peter: (lecturing) Well, Lois, since you asked, I find this meatloaf rather shallow and pedantic. "

Ive noticed that over the years. Most of them they make fun of them and the people still go along with it like Adam West, Luke Perry being gay, etc.
