finally got the jeep inspected. I dont see why the power steering pressure sensor was important enuf to have to be fixed to pass. switched it out in a few minutes and the check engine light hasnt been on since.

Because, of course, a properly operating power steering system falls under the "safety" part of the "safety and emmissions" inspection in NC.
