i'm getting way too wrapped up in the Pam/Jim thing for some simple little comedy show.... I'm really curious how they plan to play this out. For Jim and Pam to hook up, 1) it will take a lot out of the show, so they're not going to do it any time soon, and 2) they're going to have to make it happen so we both still like Pam and Jim a lot. I'm guessing they'll have to make Roy cheat on her or something. Maybe Roy will hook up with Katie or something.

i've said it for a while now

its going to be extremely difficult for this show to ever give us a ross/rachel moment

since we really rarely see outside of the office, which i think is a key element to the success of the show

A show giving into relationships and details outside the realm of the normal subject is a sign that they've run out of ideas and the shwo is on its last leg.

honestly take out the Pam/Jim relationship and the more recent layoffs and you have episodes that you could watch in any order and be fine.

Yes, but its how far you go with it. Look at how long a show like Dawson's Creek was able to drag out the central love interest. Other characters are starting to become more established sot hey have more to work with over time.
