My biggest complaint about the movie is that they made Tilda Swinton look exactly like my mom, which was disturbing to me.

WELL, I REALLY REALLY LIKED IT. IF I HAVE DIFFERENT TASTE THAN YOU DON'T HATE ME. OR HURT ME. OR HACK ME.

Not really. I tend to keep it real.

That's what my business cards say, at least.

I can tell you that if we had both of the movies, I would tell you to definitely see Thumbsucker.

Yeah, Everything is Illuminated is really great. I have a friend who will be going as Jonathan Safran Foer for Halloween.

I saw it at the $1.50 today. I didn't think the first third or so of it flowed very well at all, but the second half was outstanding, and overall I liked it a lot. I loved the score since I'm a big fan of the Polyphonic Spree and Elliot Smith, although the music was a little overpowering at times.

ive been slack with watching movies lately, but i might have to check this out when i get the chance.

when does mirrormask come out on dvd? if it hasnt already?

and everything that was said on the first page about "popular" vs "sucessful" i pretty much agree 100%.

its a very similar argument that goes on about music in entertainment every so often:

douchejock1: "OMG No one has ever heard of your favorite band! so they must be the best band ever! grow up emo fag, the reason they arent on MTV is because they arent good enough! its not because they choose to stay 'under the radar'

then the rest of the thread is flooded by 10 people who love music saying the same thing over again that is said in every thread, proving douchejock1 wrong. yet people still dont get it

loved Thumbsucker... as for mirrormask, I don't think I've ever wanted to leave a movie early as much as I did during it. I thought it was terrible. Thoughts?

might still try and watch it on dvd tho

Mirrormask blows. it's a subpar rip-off of Wizard of OZ, Neverending Story, Labyrinth, etc. (name any fun, whimsical, journey movie from your youth). some of the visuals are amazing, but the story is paper thin.
