^^Unless he did "Better Know a District" with Pelosi, that wasn't her. That was Barbara Boxer.

Colberts response to the Cartoon madness is one of the best I've seen (ok, well his and TDS are the only i've seen, since I don't have access to english news channels, but it's still very good)

getting off the cartoon thing, this thursday's was excellent, and was the first time that Colbert broke character and lost his composure. During the "Stephens Laws of Love" segment - "Filliam H Muffman".

also, his 80's music video is here in case you missed it

This show is hillarious, and yes, that interview was funny as hell.

I wonder how much shit these guys know they're going to take when they go on that show.

My favorite part was when he asked to explain himself and Colbert says "no" and ended the segment.

i think convervatives would like the al franken interview

to some its satire....to a republican it might be bliss, he got nailed.

^^ i'm sure al franken is fully aware of what he was getting into, as are most guests by now.
I read an articles a couple weeks ago that mentioned how on the first week of the show the guests were completely confused. I don't recall who they were, but most of them were aware that the show itself was a satire, but they thought that he'd come out of character to do the interviews.

but as I've said before too, he's (colbert) really on top of things and is creating quite a character for himself. Now that he's "expanding his repertoire" a bit and getting a little sillier (see the Valentine's day episode with Filliam H. Muffman and the 'Stephen and the Colberts' video) he's even more enjoyable to watch. And even though he is a staunch liberal playing a conservative, he still is not scared to 'nail' liberals and he actually does ask pointed questions. For example, his interview with Kieth Oberman the other day was almost embarassing because it showed how uncreative Kieth really is and how he can barely think on his feet to back up his viewpoints (as opposed to reading a script for 30 minutes a night on MSNBC).

It was hilarious when he interviewed the California congressman in "Better Know a District." It starts off like this.

Colbert: "You are the first congressperson that speaks fluent spanish........ that I have talked to. So I would like to proceed with this interview in the Spanish language."

Congresswoman: "Si."

Colbert: "How do you say, 'I took money from Jack Abramoff' in Spanish?"

Congresswoman: [some spanish bullshit, probably 'I took money from Jack Abramoff']

Colbert: "Why did you do it?"

Congresswoman: "I didn't. I was just translating."

Colbert: "Spanish or English, why did you do it Congresswoman?"

I laughed my ass off.

Easter Under Attack!!

wtf was Brownie smoking when he agreed to do that show?
and jeez - how typical: to prove he love black people, he brings out "my Press Secretary is black!"

then: "ok, what changes have been made to improve FEMA's response? .... Zero? You're gone, right? ... That's nothing?"

I go to church with this guy when he's in town.
He goes to Stella Maris on Sullivan's Island when he's visiting home. I saw him there at Christmas and was like "is that Colbert?"

I decided not to talk to him because 1)it might not have been him and 2)it was Christmas, no reason to fandouche him.

He must have grown up rich, he went to Porter-Gaud, which is as expensive as college.

why do guest agree to come on his show?

at least jon stewart attempts to have a conversation, colbert just uses it as an extended monologue.

the reaganomics guy was on there last night and he got maybe two words in that werent just responses to colbert's jokes.
