Good first game out @ Pepperdine. Well not good. But acceptable.

Rudy Gay, although he struggled, showed that he is willing to be more assertive. Jim Calhoun had the same talk with him before this season that he had with Ben Gordon and it seems to have had an effect.

The freshman PGs have me worried. Austrie and Garrison didn't look too good. But they just need to hold the fort down until MW gets back in January.

On to Maui to play in the toughest preseason tourney field in the history of college bball. I'd be happy with 2 Wins out of 3 out there. The field included the Twerps, MSU, Arizona, Kansas, Gonzaga, UConn, Arkansas, and Chaminade.

Yea I'm pretty fucking awesome.

Anyway.

Easy game tonight vs Army. Should be 5-0. Maui was a RESOUNDING success. Realistically there is one 'bump' game before Marcus Williams returns and that is vs UMass. They aren't very good but a win against UConn makes their season so it can't be overlooked.

Rudy Gay needs to play better but overall I'm happy with the start.

Seriously. Can we just suspend all the Duke fans that troll NCSU threads and topics. Of course I have no problem with MOODY or socrates b/c they actually are here to talk sports and not just troll. However, we have a plethora of Duke faggots that post in Sports Talk solely to piss off State students and fans. Take care of the riff raff.

Big game tonight. On the road in what will be fired up arena against a Top 4 team. This is the statement game that Gay will need to put him up there with the best. Somewhat quietly with Redick and Morrision taking the headlines (and deserverdly so), Gay has been one of the best players in the country the last month. If he continues don't be surprised to see him first team All-America when it's all said and done.

Is Nardi going to play? If so, he and Lowry are too quick for Marcus Williams so Craig Austrie is going to have to play a large part on D. Maybe even Marcus Johnson will get some PT too.

Should be a fun, high-scoring game.

Most ludicrous statement ever. If you knew anything about Duke, ANYTHING, you wouldn't have diarrhea of the mouth like this. In fact, check out the Friday (2/10)'s issue of the Chronicle, in which on the front page reads, "(STILL) NOT OUR RIVALS."

Rivalries are far from one team's inability to beat another team, no matter how shitty they are; in this case, Duke's record especially last year with an NIT-bound Maryland.

If anybody else wants to read some diarrhea of the mouth, check out Andrew Yaffe's opinion piece in last Thursday's Chronicle. This has got to be one of the worst papers I've ever read...
