each of the big 3 bought into a japanese "bitch" during the gas/emissions crunch of the 70's. chrysler went to mitsu, gm to isuzu, and ford to mazda.

the spirit r/t's were chrysler built 2.2 turbo III cars. the main difference in the turbo III vs. turbo I/II cars was that they carried a lotus designed/built head specific to the turbo III motors only. these motors were mainly used in the spirit r/t's, but a limited number of daytonas got it too. they were both pretty damn quick for the time, the spirit r/t was/is definitely a true sleeper. 11/7/2005 1:13:11 PM
