I have one
hardly ever use it though
well when I say I hardly ever use it I mean I hardly ever carry
however I use it to buy shit on a regular basis, it makes it so easy
it's almost worth it just for buying guns

you sir are an idiot, in a situation in which you would need to use a weapon your brain will not think warning shot. you will react to save your own life given the chance. furthermore hitting someone in the leg is not like hollywood. they dont drop to the ground and ask you to stop. people continue to come if not hit in a vital area, heart, brain, or lung. on top of it. a laser is a waste. in a life and death situation a laser is not going to be used. its a point and fire situation. and who is going to see a laser on their head? hello dick brain they cant see their face, and they damn sure are not going to look at their chest. how about watching fewer movies and selling your firearms before you hurt someone you dont need to.
Quote : | "exactly. if it's bad enough that you have to shoot someone, it's bad enough to justify a double-tap to the chest. plus, hitting someone in the knee under pressure might be easier said than done." |
duke u are right on as well. i cant belive the way people think. if the see someone get shot in person they may understand the gravity of the situation. keep holding it down from the dooshbags bro!11/10/2005 6:35:40 PM |

Can you apply for the permit and do some/all of the stuff before you turn 21, and just not get the permit until after? I don't want to seem like I'm in a huge hurry or anything, but I've got the money now, so if I can, why not? 11/10/2005 7:00:23 PM |

I'm pretty sure that you have to be 21 or older to apply for a CC permit. I actually can't remember off the top of my head, so don't take my word for it just yet.

You do not have to be 21 to take the class. I took it ~3 months before my 21st birthday, and went downtown to apply the day after my birthday. You do, however, have to be 21 to apply for the actual permit.

because the key word in "personal protection" is personal. its your job to defend youself, it is the most natural of all animal instinct to protect ones self and dont count on the cops for your personal protection. "yes mr mugger/murderer with a knife please hold on a moment while i call the police to come save me. then could ya please wait a few minutes till they get here before ya try anything. thanks"...if thats the way you want to be i feel bad for ya. also, one carrying a gun is LESS likely to be in a situation that even warrants its use becasue they tend to carry themselves with an air of confidence that emits a "no one is going to fuck with me" vibe. criminals can sense this vibe and will in turn look for a weaker victim to take advantage of (thats pure criminology there boys).
also someone mentioned whether or not you can draw a gun if you dont need to use it just yet. the answer is YES. you do not need to be in life threatening danger to draw a gun, you can draw peremptively. for example you are in a situation where there is no one around, its dark and someone is approaching you that you really have a bad vibe about and is very threatening looking, if you draw and keep it in the low ready and DONT point it at them then it is ok. if you point it at them first then YOU are comitting the crime. but this of course is a situational dependent thing. if your in the mall and someone approaches you i doubt you could get away with drawing a gun in the low ready and saying "get away" but on a dark street i think you could definetley make a case although you more than likely would never have to make a case becasue its between you and the potential criminal. i wouldnt want to be in a fst draw situation, although i practice those, id rather A. have the gun drawn and ready if i needed it or B. be observant enough to see a situation before it happens and avoid it.11/11/2005 1:39:46 AM |

I fully intend to own a gun and obtain a concealed carry permit. Half of it's ideological, taking every opportunity we have left to exercise personal freedom and personal responsibility. Obviously, the other side of the coin is personal protection. If someone demonstrates that they're willing and able to kill me or the ones close to me over matters material or ideological, I'll sleep easy the night I put some twisted lead through their twisted head. You have the right to life and the pursuit of happiness so long as it does not interfere with anothers... and when it comes down to it, I'm willing and able to fight and die for that ideology.

anyone in here know about the S&W Sigma 9mm? I think this is what I am going to get for my first gun. They have it on sale now for $299 11/11/2005 1:03:17 PM |

Save yourself $75 and get one from Lawmen's on Tryon Rd.
They suffered from reliability issues and bad press when they first came out. Current ones should have no problems...but you need to catch up on your finger exercises. You have to be a gorilla to shoot a Sigma for more than a few rounds. Triggers are freakin 15 lbs (actually they've been measured at 10-12 lbs). 11/11/2005 1:35:48 PM |

man, that's so true, regardless of whether or not you have a gun, or if someone intends to mug you or just give you a hard time. i remember going to parties with a friend of mine back in college who kinda slimed around everywhere...i remember walking into a party one time, walking up to the keg, and some dude offered to take my cup and fill it for me, while he got shoved past in line.
he was always getting into fights and pissing contests and stuff, because people would disrespect him (and i think it happened enough that he got a little hypersensitive to it) until he snapped.
and he was like 4-5 inches taller than me. it's all in how you carry yourself.11/11/2005 5:39:31 PM |
