It's all based on perception. My parents like living in NC more then they do California (that isn't to say they dislike Cali). So much so that when my Dad retires they fully plan on moving back to NC. I'm sure certain aspects may be more desirable (weather for instance) but that is subjective..
V of course not. I was responding to UJustSDISTHEBEST!!! saying it is 'nicer' as if he was trying to justify the cost of living of Cali...

Rent ain't a perception, though. Neither are electricity bills. 11/14/2005 3:46:48 PM |

Well its definately more expensive and crowded living here than it was in NC. Nicer is a subjective term. The weather and scenery are a lot more appealing to me and the energy California has is totally different than anything you find in North Carolina. But there's a lot of little things that can get annoying, like living on top of eachother and always having to wait to do stupid things like buy gas or groceries. Not for everyone, but it makes sense why it's more expensive to live on the West Coast. I mean if you live in a highly urbanized environment where there is little room, of course youre going to pay more for rent. One of the things people on the East Coast forget is how much freaking money is required for AC/Heating.

I guess you got me there. People around here would rather watch football than march in gay pride marches.

I used to live in San Jose for 4 1/2 years. Cali is a great duckin place to live, expensive, but still very nice. 11/15/2005 2:27:09 PM |
