if fat mike gets an album out, the terrorists win

the difference between fat mike and these guys is that fat mike, well, his lyrics are good. that and the music's decent.

haha, on the "For My Country" CD, they have a song called Freedom is not Free

how much does it cost?
$0.95? $1.00? A buck-o-five?

Quote :
"What would you do
If you were asked to give up your dreams for freedom
What would you do
If asked to make the ultimate sacrifice

Would you think about all them people
Who gave up everything they had.
Would you think about all them War Vets
And would you start to feel bad

Freedom isn't free
It costs folks like you and me
And if we don't all chip in
We'll never pay that bill
Freedom isn't free
No, there's a hefty fuckin' fee.
And if you don't throw in your buck 'o five
Who will?

What would you do
If someone told you to fight for freedom.
Would you answer the call
Or run away like a little pussy
'Cause the only reason that you're here.
Is 'cause folks died for you in the past
So maybe now it's your turn
To die kicking some ass

Freedom isn't free
It costs folks like you and me
And if we don't all chip in
We'll never pay that bill
Freedom isn't free
Now there's a have to hook'in fee
And if you don't throw in your buck 'o five
Who will?

You don't throw in your buck 'o five. Who will?
Oooh buck 'o five
Freedom costs a buck 'o five"

I saw this the other night on MSNBC. I thought it was rather funny that the guy on MSNBC called this propaganda even a couple months before, he was prasing artists for speaking their minds about Bush. hmmm just makes me wonder.

^^maybe b/c those artists dont just exists b/c of current events.

i mean, its one thing when eddie vedder sings about a police state, hes been doing that for years, regardless of the president...

its another thing when youre band and promoter's sole, stated purpose is to "fill kids minds with truth" or, well, just read:

Why don't they just request Toby Keith? He at least doesn't just exist because of current events and his lyrics are equally as compelling/well thought out.

Anyone else find it funny that they name two marginal singles from last year as being the reason the youth of America are so "misinformed"?

I'm a little upset Green Day's "American Idiot" gets no mention...

wow those are awful. They sound like beer comercials, but with stupid political lyrics.

How anyone can take that for serious music is well beyond me. And if conservatives really think this is going to make the left go "hey, after hearing this wonderfully prepared musical overture, I think I WILL support the president!!" then they aren't even as smart as I thought.

oh boy...

http://rightmarch.com/

this is what i get for remembering this thread. apparently since noone would request that song, theyve decided to turn it into a commercial and just buy airtime to show it. its smart, really.

and if mtv wont air it, THEYRE REPRESSING FACTS! ON PURPOSE!

if you watch the video, they use a quote from Al Jazeera. kekekekekekek....

When I read the lyrics, heck even when I heard it I though "We didn't start the fire" then I read the second post.

BTW. The very first thing I thought when I heard it was... cool they put lyrics to sonic the hedgehog tunes.

"Doesn't it feel good to say "I told you so" when you're proven right? Wouldn't you like to say it right in the face of all those liberals who have been trashing President Bush for five years? Now you can. Take a look at this 30-second TV ad we're planning to run nationwide - you're gonna LOVE it! We want to start out by airing the ad on Fox News, especially during the top-rated shows "The O'Reilly Factor" and "Hannity & Colmes". O'Reilly's show alone attracts over TWO MILLION viewers per show! With all of the media coverage that will get us, we can then move on to airing the ad -- where else? -- on MTV. Unless they continue to censor us -- in which case, it will get even MORE media coverage, and even MORE Americans will be reminded that "Bush Was Right"... And YOU will get to say "I told you so" to even MORE liberals. "

^ha that's pretty good.

First off, they are putting the ad on the wrong station. On Fox they are preaching to the chior. Heck, I'm republican and even I think it would be a good idea to 1) Find an instance of how/where the president has been correct. Then 2) Write a song about it. They jumped right to step 2.
