I got mine last Wednesday...you can pretty much pick yours up whenever you want, as long as they are in the CF West lot that day. As for the brackets, they do leave a little more to be desired, but I'll eventually find something long term. For now, they'll probably be used in my new home gym as seats to rest in betweens sets or something. IDK if I'll have a "man cave" room, but they'll probably go up in a guest room somewhere long term.

Got mine last week too. First thing I did was paint the legs black with plastidip, which I think helps the appearance alot.

I also picked up a couple of the chair backs for $10/each, which I had of bought more. Made a great birthday present to a friend, and the other one I have in my office on the shelf.

yeah, I'd kinda like to get one or two of the seatbacks at that price (if they're still available), but no idea what I'd do with them.

I wasn't able to get there in time to pick up any of the 'good' seat numbers (#44, #24, etc.), but picked up 3 yesterday myself.

Do what you want, but as this might be a cool find at a yard sale for 5 bucks, I could never see myself dropping serious money on something like this. The idea of having it is probably cooler than actually having it.

What am I supposed to say to that? Put an ugly, impractical, meaningless chair in your living room for the low low price of $400, I guess...

probably gonna grab a couple/few seatbacks tomorrow as well and figure out what to do with them later, assuming that I can just buy some as a walk-up

David aka dbhawley got me the seat back for my bday and its perfect for a mantle or on the wall type thing.

I'm ordering a small engraved plaque that tells what the seatback is and when it was used etc for people that dont know WTF they are looking at.

just went by and picked up a couple. they'll let you dig through all you want if you're trying to find a certain number, amount of wear, etc. but the numbers left are pretty limited

also, as an FYI, this is what you're getting. I was thinking it was the entire seatback, but then realized that'd be pretty tough for them to do without keeping the metal that held the three slats together. I was a little underwhelmed at first but decided there'd still be a couple people I know that'd appreciate them.

Got my chairs today. If you still haven't gotten yours really make sure to look them over and make sure that the seats fall to the same level when you open them. I'm really happy with mine - if you ask them they'll show you to the ones in the best condition. I also got 6 seat backs. 1 for my office and the other 5 will be given to friends / family.

I'm thinking of saving one until my cousin makes it into State (hopefully for this Spring) and then making him watch Survive and Advance and them giving him the seat back and taking him to a game to indoctrinate his ass into the pain that is being a State fan.

dbhawley,
did you spray or dip with the plastidip? Any photos of how it turned out. i was thinking of doing the same thing with the steel brackets. just picked mine up today. was in better condition than i was expecting considering what i had been hearing.

phried - I used the spray can one. The trick is to do several light coats, or it wont stick.

^^ thx. picked some up and plan to do it this weekend. watched a few videos of people using it on their rims and stuff. i think it will look a lot better than regular spray paint.

Plastidip is amazing. Its really easy. Just make sure to do light coats. You don't have to wait very long in between coats. I think last time I used it I waited like 8-10 minutes and it still worked well. It smooths itself out.
