Anybody know about the bar scene in uptown Charlotte? I have never been out there before and I was wondering which bars would be good for a bunch of drunken idiots (myself and my friends). 12/27/2005 10:09:57 AM |

- Buckhead Saloon: Fun, large place - live music, good dancing without clubbing - Grand Central: Deli by day, bar by night lots of fun - Brick & Barrel: the owners are good guys (Although UNC fans) so give them hell - Connelly's: Irish themed pub that is a little lower key (at times) go upstairs - BAR charlotte: 18 year-olds looking 25 and 25 year-olds looking 16 - Dixie's Tavern: Fun place, normally something happening in the parking lot12/27/2005 10:17:19 AM |

dixie's is my favorite of the bunch - typically a good crowd, i expect new years to be no different. 12/27/2005 10:38:26 AM |

theres plenty of bars within a few blocks of the stadium...aside from the list erudite just posted^^ here are a few more, and some clarifications of his:
- Buckhead Saloon: corner of College Street and 5th Street...probably a $5+ cover...mostly rock and roll and country - Grand Central: Tryon Street between Trade Street and 5th Street - Brick and Barrel: not sure exactly where - Connelly's: 5th Street in between Tryon Street and College Street...right near a couple other decent spots too like Phil's Deli - BAR Charlotte: in alleyway between 6th Street and 7th Street, between Brevard and College (I think)...a few other equally crappy bars back in that alley - Dixie's Tavern: I believe its on 6th Street about a block or two east of BAR
a few others:
The Graduate: Trade Street between Tryon and Church...good old sports bar...sure to be packed after the game Stool Pigeon's: corner of Church and 6th Street...sports bar I guess Angry Ale's: corner of Church and 3rd Street...sports bar, big screen TV's, gets really crowded after Panthers' games Fox and Hound: corner of Tryon and 7th Street...cool 3-level place...pool tables, bars, couches, etc
All of those places are within like 10 blocks of the stadium...Angry Ale's is probably 3 blocks away...Fox and Hound probably 10...give or take
GO PACK! 12/27/2005 12:24:40 PM |
