sounds like the preferred customer account just provides a sales manager you can call directly (holy shit, he picked the phone. dialed a dell number, and a human picked up and said hello) he says he can get discounted systems etc...as long as i'm not buying something below cost he can save me $. we'll see

I thought all that was needed to get a preferred customer account was a good credit and a DL number.

i got no idea, they just sent me an email (with the account info already in it). they never checked my credit.
