rarely made a mistake???

have we been watching the same team? Sure Lucas is about as solid as they come, but QBs have been picking on gamble all year. I would rather have Ricky Manning in there than Gamble. He may have a nice amount of picks, but its because they throw the ball his way every time.

does the Giants' secondary rank dead last in the NFL, or are the only bottom 5?

Are you implying that Vick has more turnovers than Delhomme? Because I'd like to inform you that you are incorrect.

allow me to interject

1) Are soft against the run

they allowed 3 RBs all season to rush for 100+ yards...they held Dillon, A. Green, Cadillac (1/2 games), Dunn (both games), Thomas Jones all to less than 100 yards and won all of those games except the CHI game...you wouldnt even say that if Julius Jones didnt go off

2) Have a non-existent running game against any team not named Atlanta

[b]not too much disagreement here but we've shown good runs at times

3) Have only two offensive threats (Steve Smith and Steve Smith)

considering the Giants 2ndary is complete crap, I would add KC, Proehl and Carter to that list...Foster is capable of making runs

4) Have a shitty kicker.

this is utterly absurd

5) Have a quarterback who is two parts Fumble/Interception and one part touchdown. (FIT)

His turnover:touchdown ratio is far from 2:1...matter of fact, with the injuries to Dante and Donovan, Jake is apparently a top 3 QB in the NFC...unless you want to claim somebody like Bledsoe who cant lead his team to the playoffs, or someone like Eli who completes 50% of his passes is better

6) Give up too many 3rd down conversions on defense

yet we still won 11 games...if you give up 1 3rd down conversion thats too many

Cadillac wasnt healthy the first time we played him, he barely made it on the field.

Im not sure Dillon put up 100 yards on anyone this season, the Pats run game sucked.

Ahman Green hasnt rushed for 100 yards since like October 2004.

You just picked two guys that didnt rush for 100 yards vs anyone and another guy (Cadillac) who rushed for like 1.2 yards a carry against San Fran the week before on his bad ankle...

Proehl counts as half a threat maybe since he takes like 15 reps a game.

Kasay has been stumbling.

Delhomme might not be 2:1 but he's at the top of the league in turnovers.

Cadillac started that game and we shut him down

Kasay was flawless last week...momentum

Why dont you name me 3 NFC quarterbacks that are better than Delhomme, based on this years numbers, since you are so hung up on his turnover numbers this year

Holding Ahman Green and Corey Dillion under 100 yards at the beginning of the year is nothing to boast about.

Like I said, Green hasn't rushed for 100 yards against anyone since November 2004.

Dillion didn't rush for 100 yards in a game until Week 5 against Atlanta. He only did it one other time and that was against Buffalo, though he was injured for quite a while. The telling thing that he's not all there is that he only dropped 63 on the Raiders. I could fucking run on the Raiders.

I'm trying to point this out to him, but he doesn't seem to want to listen.

yeah holding two solid RBs under 100 yards when they're still healthy is nothing

hindsight hindsight hindsight...now you're gonna try to tell me that Julius Jones is a better back than Warrick Dunn, Thomas Jones, Ahman Green, and Corey Dillon based on one game

DID YOU NOT SEE US SHUT DOWN THE BEST RUSHING TEAM IN THE NFL LAST WEEK?

Dude Ahman Green had like 13 consecutive games without 100 yards.

He is done, washed up, over the hill, etc

That guy stinks now.

Corey Dillon was never very healthy and did pretty much nothing all season.

how bout the fact that we shut down the best rushing team in the league? that one of those games you just choose to ignore since "Atlanta didnt show up"?

I'm telling you Ahman Green hasn't done shit for a year.

I'm telling you that Corey Dillion hasn't run for shit all year.

They're bad people to gauge off of.

Thomas Jones isn't bad, but they had Orton at QB and god knows there was no incentive not to but 8-9-10 in the box. He still put up 87 yards. That's nothing to scoff at.

You didn't shut down Dunn in the second game against them, they shut themselves down. They got behind early and abandoned the run, then just gave up. Yes, you held him to 80 yards the first time you played. Congrats.

we get up on them 44-3 and get no credit...and you say I wear panthers colored glasses...what the fuck kind of shades are you rocking? cause i think they're darker than mine

Your offense stopped their rushing game far more than your defense.

It's not like you had Dunn shut down when they let him carry the ball. He had 7 carries for 31 yards.

4 YPC is pretty damn good last I checked.

they were out of the playoff race man.

That is totally different than going into Giants stadium in January and stopping Tiki Barber.

I dont think our run defense is awful

We're certainly no Atlanta, Buffalo, or Houston...

I'm just saying I don't think its nearly as strong as people give it credit for...

And the fact that we can NOT run the ball this year combined with Del-turnover at QB... it looks like one & done to me.

GO Panthers I hope we win out, but Im not putting all my testicles in one knutesac.

well im indifferent to your testicle analogy, but the Giants are damn near as inconsistent this year as the Panthers...granted they are 8-1 at home this year...still inconsistent...all I know is Steve Smith is our best offensive player and the Giants' biggest weakness is their 2ndary

oh yeah did I mention John Fox is slightly familiar with the Giants

no arguments about cadillac....he was still working up to his normal reps...he got 11 carries when he normally would get about 25-30

your right about dillon...he only posted 100 twice...he avg 76 all purpose yards for the games he did play and 1 TD......when he played the panthers they held him to 36 Total yards, 0 TD....nothing impressive but still a decent show for the panthers

ahman green was terrible this year

so only 1 of those 3 could actually be put on a resume for the panthers run game

Proehl is always a threat b/c he is underestimated...remember the cowboys 70 yd reception or the game winning TD verse detroit in the final minute or how he was the first to get a TD at atlanta before the panthers completely broke their spirits? Proehl is taken lightly and he always makes the catch when it matters...he is definitely a offensive threat.

kasay has done terrible the past few games b/c Fox has had kasay taking long field goals like 48-53 yds. every kicker in the nfl has respect for kasay b/c he can be counted on 90% of the time...i'd still take him over almost any other kicker...even after superbowl 38

i'm not sure about top of the league in turnovers with delhomme..but if he is then favre..manning....vick and i'm sure quite a few others have a worse TD-TO ratio than he does....vick is practically 1-1...how can you say vick is better?

Dont forget Ahman Green was also bad the last 8 games of the '04 season.

Delhomme 25 TD, 22 turnovers

Vick 21 TD, 18 turnovers...

Clearly, Vick has a slightly better TD/turnover ratio despite not having Steve Smith to do all the scoring for him.

the offense isnt great by any stretch of the imagination but it will be much better with grossman going and thomas jones 100%

by your same logic if the bears get up on someone 6-0...its OVER

not to mention, chicago winters

Vick had better blocking, too.

Delhomme got blindsided way too often. Vick had a lot more protection and a better running attack to work with, but was still incredibly inefficient at passing the ball.

i'm sure someone said this, i mean its so obvious, but how are the panthers soft against the run and yet lead the conference in that very category? because one guy went off they automatically have question marks? fox will stack the box and make manning throw to toomer, as someone said. panthers 21, giants 13

Umm, no. You can't automatically say that Atlanta has a great O-line because they have a great running game. A lot of those yards came from speed and making people miss, not because of huge holes.

Also, there's a big difference between run blocking and pass blocking. Atlanta's O-line is pretty shitty, fans have been complaining about it for years.

Reading the thread is critical if you intend on participating in it. They're not god awful against the run, but there are some definite question marks.

the haters rate the run defense based on the Dallas game

the real people base it on 16 games
