I like the original idea too, but I'm not sure I ever saw the commercial. Basically, anything involving Erskine is funny. He can't win an elected office in this state.

All I have to think about is the commercial where all they said was "Erskine Bowls" over and over and over again while Erskine bowled. Then I think about him being the president of the university system. Then I wonder why North Carolina is 48th in the nation in education.... It all makes sense now.

It wasn't a commercial. The first thing has to do with his election as president of the UNC system being held behind closed doors; not open to the public. The media recently stated they wouldn't sue, but the manner in which the election was carried out wasn't especially law-abiding in NC.

It's just more of UNC's special priviledge and so forth.

For anybody rational it's probably not too big of a deal, but it's definitely more reason to despise UNC. And Bowles is a big-banking weasel from Charlotte...

It just goes to show that when you cant be elected...be selected by your buddies. And, I knew it was pre-college education that was 48th. North Carolina has been consistently near the bottom for well over 2 decades. By now, these people have gone through the "pre-college" system and have filtered through (by way of quotas) the university system as well. So, in essence the colleges and universities in North Carolina are now trying to educate those who the "pre-college" system failed to educate. That makes the universities lower their standards. That makes the entire system lower quality. Look at OCCC's offerings of "International Studies" and other programs like it. Basically they are giving degrees to those who otherwise would not be getting them.... Lower standards = Erskine in power.... NOT cool imho....
