he's close to committing. chris wright coming here won't effect his decision at all.

i think he's like the #2 guard in the west.

Not bad, come on home JaMelle.

The 07 class has the potential to be herbs best class, a number of top 15 position players are at least a good ways up the list

lets just make sure these kids WANT to win. seems like right now we have a lot of guys that just hope we win, and arent willing to be the guy that can MAKE us win.

It would be a great pickup for us. He's defensive minded. Heard he put a lockdown on Tywon Lawson in AAU ball one time. Fast athletic guards who can defend and handle the ball is the only thing Herb is missing.

btw... Chris Wright's team, St. Johns lost to Dematha high school... again. Dematha is considered the best team in the DC area... (Jordan Collins high school) 5* Austin Freemans high school

Chris Wright had 17 points I think... He put up 22 and 35 the other two times they faced Dematha.

EDIT:This was for the WCAC championship...

If some of these recruits were to hear some of our "fans" criticism of Herb and our players, they might not want to come here. Ive seen a thread on just about every player on the team this year.

Scout.com says we still haven't offered McMillan. Anyone know if that's true?

I wouldn't mind seeing he and Vaughn join Wright...

He's got an offer from State. Those profiles aren't up to date for the most part.

Not sure who else he has offers from, but from an article dated today....

Quote :
"McMillan is drawing heavy interest from programs such as NC State, Georgetown, UCLA, Washington, Washington State, and Arizona among others. With his ties to the Wolfpack and an offer on the table, it should come as no surprise that they are his leader.

"I'm leaning towards State as of right now, and I am looking to make that decision in the next few weeks," said McMillan. "Our high school runs a similiar offense, and I think the transition would be perfect.

"I just think when a school like NC State, with a great program and a lot of history in one of the best conferences in the nation is showing that much interest, I think it's a good match.

"I think the timing is right, and I don't really see myself being able to fit in with systems like those at [Washington] and Arizona. Those are great schools, but fit-wise, I just think NC State would be the perfect opportunity." "

I don't care if he can score. We need a lock down defensive player that we can count on.

Chris Wright and Larry Davis will be our "go-to" guys of the future.

all three of our recruits moved up in the final rankings. Horner is #83, Werner is #89 and Lavis is #92. And they all seem like they want to stay no matter who the coach is

^ You mean Davis? I thought he was supposed to be the highest ranked of the three too. Pretty sad though that we didn't even have one top-50 guy.

If Ced doesn't come back, we better try and find a 6'10 body from somewhere.

We'll have Horner, Werner, and Costner (all are 6'7-6'8), and maybe Brack.

No true center, but we'll still have some size.

3 4-Star players, should be interesting, hopefully all of them stay and we can utilize all of them effectively.

I just noticed just how many people UNC signed, I knew they signed those 3 top 10 guys, I didn't realize they had signed so many players overall though, that's a HUGE signing class.

Dan Werner is back on the market – and N.C. State will get the last shot.

The skilled 6-foot-8 senior forward from New Jersey, who committed and signed with Herb Sendek and the Wolfpack prior to the coaching change, received a conditional release on Wednesday, according to Christian Brothers (N.J.) coach Ed Wicelinski.

``Dan is allowed to be recruited per NCAA regulations,” Wicelinski said. “He’s allowed to take official visits and anyone who’s interested in Danny is allowed to call him now.”

Wicelinski and the Werner family will meet on Wednesday night and try to decide on four schools that could receive official visits since Werner’s lone official visit came to N.C. State prior to his commitment.

It is expected that Notre Dame will be in the foursome. However, Wicelinski said that N.C. State – and AD Lee Fowler in particular – have been extremely helpful throughout the process. In fact, Fowler told Wicelinski around Easter that he favored the coach calling other schools for Werner while the university was in coaching limbo.

``A conditional release basically means that N.C. State will be in last,” Wicelinski said. “I don’t know if it will be Sidney Lowe, because I’m not sure if his requirements (he has yet to earn his degree) will be fulfilled, or it’ll be one of the assistants.”

When Werner inked with N.C. State, he was a little-known recruit who was considered a reach by the Wolfpack staff. However, coming off a stellar senior campaign in which he averaged 21 points and 11 boards for a 27-2 squad, his stock has risen.

Wicelinski said that he’s spoken with Florida, Kentucky, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Richmond, St. Joseph’s, St. John’s, Pittsburgh, Georgetown and Notre Dame.

``We’re basically going to start the recruiting process over tonight,” he said. "

It's Werner.

And I don't think he needs a Princeton-like offense to play in. I mean, Florida and Kentucky are recruiting him now, I don't think they run a princeton-like offense. He tore it up in Raleigh at the Glaxo tournament and ended up being our highest rated recruit out of that class. Our staff really wants him back.

We also get the last crack at him...so hopefully we can get him to re-commit.

Hopefully we can convince him to stay

His parents sounded very positive the other day on NC State's chances.
