Foster is not a good fit for our offense. He can't run between the tackles efficiently, and he is worthless in the redzone.

The Panthers may go after a veteran power runner like Jamal Lewis in the offseason. I could see him having a brief career resurgence the way Stephen Davis did.

It would be absolutely stupid to let Witherspoon go to resign Foster. You can't entrust a large sum of money to a guy who missed 30 games in his first 3 seasons and just suffered yet another season-ending injury.

3. Tennessee - Vincent Young, QB Texas ( McNair has tutored him for a while, now he gets the chance to keep the starting spot warm for vince until he's ready. Although I'd laugh my ass off if houston picks young)

4. New York Jets - DeAngelo Williams, RB Memphis (they need someone for C-Mart, but they also need a lot of other things, so they'll settle for the #2 rb in the draft. I could also see them trading this pick to maybe Arizona so arizona can take Williams)

5. Green Bay - Mario Williams, DE NCSU (still Poor Mario )

6. Oakland - AJ Hawk, LB Ohio St (Not only does he look like an oldschool raider from the tecmo bowl era, the raiders need LBs badly)

7. *Cleveland* - Mathias Kiwanuka, DE BC (Cleveland BADLY needs a pass rusher and have used a converted DT at DE most of the season in their 3-4 scheme, so they trade up, happy that Mathias is still available)

8. Buffalo - D'Brickashaw Ferguson UVA (As bad as they could use Ngata at DT, their OL is absolutely horrible, so they grab the best OL)

9. *Kansas City* - Haloti Ngata, DT Oregon (The Cheifs trade up for the best DT in the draft and fill a huge hole in their D. Now Kendrell Bell and Derrick Johnson have some help in the middle)

10. Arizona - Vernon Davis, TE UMD (This pick gives Denny Green maybe one of the best WRs/TE group in the NFL. Davis is a perfect fit for the Denny Green system in Arizona. He will probably go for a RB in rd 2 again this year as Arrington hasnt panned out so far)

11. St. Louis - Tamba Hali, DE Penn St. ( What dont the Rams need help at on defense? But this will help Leonard Little see fewer double teams)

12. *San Francisco*- Michael Huff, CB/S Texas (The 49ers need many parts, so in the trade down they aquire this pick and other that can help them build. Safety is a big need in SF and Huff is the best one in the draft. In my opinion this would be the perfect realistic situation for the 9ers)

13. Baltimore - Winston Justice, OT USC (With Ogden and Brown getting into their 11th nfl season next year, Baltimore will need help on their OL, and with Justice they get another athletic tackle in the Ogden mold)

14. Philadelphia - Santonio Holmes, WR Ohio St (With the departure of TO, the eagles are stuck at WR. Reggie brown isnt the answer, neither is pinkston. Holmes gives McNabb a solid down the field threat and is a solid blocker, which is needed in the Eagles offensive scheme)

15. Atlanta - Ko Simpson, S S. Carolina (The Falcons badly need safety help, lucky for them they can grab the 2nd best safety in the draft)

16. Miami - Brodrick Bunkley, DT FSU (I really think the Dolphins will make a move for a QB already in the NFL way b4 the draft starts. So with this pick they shore up their interior D-line and add depth to a spot whose starters will be turning 36 and 37 this year)

17. Minnesota - Laurence Maloney, RB Minnesota (With onterrio smith gone, bennett going to be gone and moe williams a FA, the vikings have a chance to add a REAL starting RB who will be able to open up the passing game for Daunte Culpepper. It also helps that Maloney went to UMinnesota)

18. Dallas - Marcus McNeill, OT Auburn ( gotta help Bledsoe and his slow release)

19. San Diego - Ernie Sims, LB Florida St. (Perfect fit for Marty's 3-4 D on the other side of Merriman and Marty has a way with other troublemakers)

26. New England - Lendale White, RB USC (Lucky for NE, every team for the last like 10 picks are set at RB, so White falls to them)

27. Chicago - Derek Hagan, WR ASU (Chicago desperately needs a WR to compliment Muhammed, and the Hagan gives them another big receiver perfect for their style of possesion offense)

28. Indianapolis - Brian Calhoun, RB Wisconsin (When his workouts at the camps show his 4.35 speed, Calhoun will vault into the 1st round. And with Edge in a contract year, and the oft injured backups to edge, why not a RB in the first round. Calhoun fits the Colts offense better than White)

29. Carolina - Chad Greenway, LB Iowa (With Witherspoon possibly leaving, the panthers need to address this position here and possibly look to sign a #2 WR and maybe draft a TE in a later round(or maybe Maurice Stovall in the 2nd rd))

30. Denver - Leonard Pope, TE Georgia (A perfect fit for the Broncos, at 6'7" 250, Pope can catch and block(which we all know is important in Denver), not just one or the other like the TE by committee there this year)

31. Pittsburgh - Elvis Dumervil DE, Louisville (the steelers could add depth at DE, where it is needed, or trade this pick for one next year. There are not any RBs left that they couldnt probably get in the 2nd rd)

32. Seattle - Orien Harris, DT Miami (Seattle needs interior line help. That is where their run defense was exposed many times this season, not to mention the talent level at the DT position is low. Harris would be a great addition and is in the cortez kennedy mold)

I question the 49ers taking a safety in the top half of the draft. No stats to back this claim but Im under the impression that safeties are like tight ends rarely drafted high. 49ers need either a posterboy star or a trench guy like a lineman on either side of the ball. Im not a Niners fan so that is just an objective opinion.

To pick Huff this high he'd have to be able to be compared to the Roy Williams and Ed Reeds

I know Williams was drafted that high I am a Cowboys diehard
I dont mind SanFran trading down but at 13 MARONEY (not maloney) and LenDale White are still there to be had. They could be franchise picks. At least they would be an upgrade from Frank Gore. Any number of decent OL/DL are still kickin it as well. The rbs could be in demand at 13 as well making another jump down a possibility. I know its a mock and projected trades are nearly impossible to pick thisa early. My main point tho is that gamebreaker safeties are rare in the nfl despite the hype that big time college head hunters get. Even Roy Williams is not thought well of as a cover man. If you say this Huff guy is all the hype says then he should go before 13...
