Hillary Clinton: "It is my privilege to introduce to you the last, great Democratic President."

Jon Stewart: "Oh my God! FDR's alive! They cured polio, how did they do it? He's alive!"

you know what is so funny about "lock box"

bush has talked a lot more about "privatization" than gore ever talked about "lockbox"

I don't want to bother looking up the exact quote, so this may not be word for word, but here is one of my favorites:

After the pope died, some republican faces were speaking at various press conferences touting how the pope's beliefs and values were strongly aligned with the republican party and agenda. Then reporters quickly jumped in asking things like, "Wasn't the pope staunchly against the war in Iraq?" and, "didn't the pope have a serious problem with the death penalty?" Whoever was being asked the questions on each of the occasions said something along the lines of, "I'd prefer not to talk about that right now" ...anyways they cut to Stewart who says:

"Please reporters, please, in the name of the holy father, can you please just not point out our bullshit just this once?"

when he quietly said after one segment back in late 2003/early 2004:

"those fuckers!"

in reference to something that some al queda honcho said in one of the tapes that al jazeera played in response to the beginning of the war with iraq about how we had no right to attack iraq even though we gave saddam a month long ultimatum.

[Edited on January 19, 2006 at 10:49 PM. Reason : for me, the show hasn't been particularly funny since about mid'03 when they geared up to push kerry]

On the Bush v. Bush, debate... did he actually cut and paste file footage to put that together? Or did they dub in fake quotes? The reason I'm asking is that I wanna show one of my polisci profs. that. He's teaching the American Presidency and this morning we were comparing Bush's 1st term agenda with the second term.

plz to hlp, k, thx.

It was Bush actually talking, so no dubs.

The majority of his 2000 speak was from the debates with Gore.

Anyone remember back when Kilborn was hosting and in response to a letter he wrote lyrics to the theme song...all I remember is the refrain, "Why don't you watch it, it's the dail...eee...show."
