Hmm...

I'm not a person that goes for fancy cars much. Nor would I be buying a car (obviously) until I had graduated from college and saved up some money (and needed a cheap commuter car), which is about 3-4 years off..

So, in order of preference:

A couple year old, used Volkswagen Jetta TDI or, if diesel isn't that great a deal at that point, I'll go with a gas sipper.
A two year old Ford Fusion (either the 4 cylinder or the 6 cylinder, probably stick, depending on the reliability/mileage at that point, and also depends on gas prices) with a pretty nice interior and all the safety features.
Or maybe a Ford 500 sedan with all the fixins, if they prove to depreciate to the point where I'd want to buy it, and if they don't end up falling completely to pieces.

Haha, I think I'm the only one in here who picked "boring" cars.

and the funny thing is, we're more likely to follow through than any of these fucks... all these people talking about M3's and shit. Most of you will find college loans, no garage space, or a nagging vag prohibitive.

Or both. Ray, you have a tremendous amount of insight. My hat's off to you!

Of course, it doesn't hurt to pipe dream, but for a lot of us, they'll remain just that...pipe dreams.

I really wish this wasn't the case, but there was nothing put on hold. All that stuff about a new Rx-7 originate as rumors started by fanboys who like to photoshop concept cars. There are about a million threads on rx7club about this. There will probably be a higher output rotary engine coming out in a couple years, but nobody knows what car(s) it will be in, what displacement, etc.

I'm still buying an SUV, even though gas is climbing. After going from a jeep, to an explorer, to an accord, I'm going back to the SUV. I never had to trade with my dad when I had the explorer. Oh, and regarding garage space... I don't ever plan on living in an urban/city area... so that won't be a problem.

I have a friend that's in pretty good with a Mazda engineer, and I've been hearing differently for the past 2 years. And this is a very trustworthy individual.

Something rwd. I'm debating between an E36 (328is, maybe M3), 240sx, Miata (Possibly SCed), and anything else that catches my eye.

i don't know, so far, I've pretty much gotten everything I've wanted.

really, the only thing i've ever REALLY REALLY set out to do or get that I haven't pulled off was being a pilot in the USMC, and right now I'm in school to be a navigator/WSO ("Goose")...and I'm gonna apply to switch to pilot as soon as I'm eligible.

i just kinda tend to doggedly pursue things...it took me 6 years to get my mechanical engineering degree...haha. i hated it, too...only reason I stuck with it is because (1) I was too stubborn to quit (2) there was nothing else I really was interested in that was of any use to have only an undergraduate degree in, and as a military officer, it didn't really matter what degree, only that I got one, and (3) Back before I got screwed out of being a pilot, I planned on applying to be a test pilot, which you more or less need an engineering degree for.

but don't count me out yet...I still plan on getting switched to pilot.

and then becoming a politician...maybe a Senator or something.

with a really sweet car.

yeah, except i already have a TSX and Explorer, a 3 car garage that both of my cars stay in each night, with room to grow, and the wife likes cars as much as I. We already make enough to support our wants and needs, so basically, yes I will be just as likely to follow through on my list

haha, yep...and i have no college loans. i won't live in a place that doesn't have a garage--that, along with proximity to base, were the two big qualifications when we were looking for a place here in FL.

and i've never kept a girl around longer than 2 months, so i don't see any chick standing in the way of me and my fast cars. the cars were here first--any girl who comes into the scene will have to deal.

^saw it today...pulled in your parking lot. That's got the '87 and up Fox Body alloys, right?

Whatchu gonna do with it anyway. BTW, it won't be a bad car to paint. The only thing is the blacked out trim that's peeling.

What's up with Nick's Trooper?

^^it's got the "turbine" wheels. honestly i'm not sure if they're correct for that car or not. seems the 10 holes were standard for gt's of that year. maybe 5.0 can clarify, he's a mustang guy.

nick's trooper is basically done. it was wheelable, but he broke a u joint strap on the front yoke on our last trip. just some misc. stuff to do like bumpers, fix the front shaft, etc. since he lives in charlotte now i've just been driving it every once in a while to keep the biases from flat spotting.

10-holes were standard up to '86.

The turbine alloys came standard from '87 up.

Also add to that a BMW, probably 330 ... if I stay with the "coupe" style I'm with right now.

Well that's assuming they don't overhaul the body style in the next two years. Unfortunately, that's been happening to all of my favorites as of late I mean, I know car manufacturers have to stay competitive, but why change cars that are selling well? Oh well.

DREAM BMW - 6 series convertible, that's a bit out of my just-graduated league I'm guessing.

Picked up a 1993 Suzuki GS500e today, vehicle #3

Next step is to find a cheap 1990-1991 Miata to strip out, put a bar in, and turn into a track car.

After that will be replacing the Civic with a Toyota Tacoma
