I think there needs to be some serious consideration for co-moderation. I don’t agree with Jaybee becoming one because he broke “the rules” of sports talk to attempt to make a point against Carzin. However, at least two people could be trusted to work with Carzin in moderating the board should be sufficient. As has already been pointed out Carzin can’t be on here all the time but between three people there would be some sufficient moderation to help clean up the clutter this board is slowly becoming.

I think some of people problems with suspensions are that they don’t see the warning you send to a user and are oblivious to what a particular user did to warrant suspension. I agree with the first two examples you have placed up top.

The first two people that would come to mind as a suggestion for co-mods would be rallydurham and NyM410

well, i think the board needs a second mod. i also get sick of the bullshit threads.

and CarZin, honestly, i think you need to set a precedent. setting that precedent will require becoming much more strict, while pissing off quite a bit of people. then, people might think twice before posting drivel.

There is a right and wrong way to rock the boat, and he took the wrong way. Maybe, you didn't see his thread titled "We are the Champions!!!" this morning. When you clicked it was totally obvious what the thread was about and it seemed Chit Chat lost one its threads. This was what i referenced when I said he doesn't deserve to become moderator. It wasn't him calling out CarZin, or self-promoting himself but posting an encryptic message in Sports Talk that had nothing to do with sports.

if a thread is inappropriately titled (ie, the damn son thread about that fan that had the heart attack or whatever) and someone comes and actually gives a more descriptive title, delete the worse title of the two, regardless of replies. or if YOU could rename the threads (since we cant once we post), then do that and delete the newer thread.

I think NyM410 would work but I do think he's enjoyment in the bashing of others and shit-talking might make things difficult. Probably the most suitable candidate I can think of at the moment.

PackBacker is pretty reliable but not sure if he's quite active enough (in terms of span of hours in a day) for moderation. Plus, he'd probably go back and delete his old posts where he wanted to fire Herb so he could destroy the evidence.

I think Jaybee1200 gets too caught up in very specific discussions/threads to see the big picture for moderation.

I'm pretty active during the AM so could help out there but I pretty much hate everyone so I might moderate the forum out of existence.

It is important you get someone who talks all sports because a lot avoid subjects like Baseball and Hockey but they need love too.

I think you should pick two though and go with a Triumvirate of Sports Talk.

This is not meant to be an insult, however, its a high likelihood I have a more hectic life than you do. Its possible you are into more shit, but I rarely have the time to do all the stuff I want to do. Since I do the job, and get bitched at often, this is an attempt to make it less aggrivating. And as others have stated, the fact that I have a life outside of TWW makes constant moderation an issue. Which is why I am considering asking for a co-mod. And since I don't know any of the people personally that have been nominated, I don't have a personal preference.

Personally, I don't like the idea of a lot of moderators running around or any one mod being super picky. Sure, certain threads shouldn't be made and ought to be deleted, and some users beg for suspensions, but it isn't imperative that action be taken immediately. It can wait a few hours, and no one's going to die.

If you guys want another moderator, though, I'd suggest looking through posting histories for someone who's obviously laid back enough not to get pissy over personal insults heaved his/her way and someone who views moderation as a last resort rather than something to actively push. I don't want to feel like someone's looking over my shoulder when I post, nor does anyone else.

And finally, my advice to CarZin is stop worrying about what whiny kids have to say. Instead of going with steadfast rules/policies or whatever, use common sense. So "Cam's dunk" thread spawned outside of the "Official game thread" and you want to leave it? Great. "Ced's fuck-up" thread deemed unworthy? Wonderful. Who cares about minor inconsistencies. This isn't the SCOTUS, and you aren't bound by precedent.
