I just hate Duke. I have hated them since 1989. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I mean I admit they're very good and I respect them. I just hate them, plain and simple. It's got nothing to do with jealousy or conspiracy theories whatsoever. But you're probably not talking about me all that much...

No. He is right on this one. It's not just students. State fans, by and large, have a HUGE inferiority complex to the two school down I-40 about 20 miles. I don't mind people complaining about what they perceive to be bad calls in State games or other ACC games (like last night because I really think that was a HORRIBLE call) because I do it often myself.. but this goes beyond just that..

Seriously. Every time there is a small slight (the Doyell thing was MUCH more then a small slight but he is a moron anyway) like are article not being as long as one on a UNC game there are people whining -- yes, this was a thread on this very website. The constant bitching about Swofford. Someone went so far as to say that the reason we lost to UNC 2 years ago (T.A. fumble game) was because the ref had open heart surgery at UNC and felt the need to 'thank them' for it.

I understand the N&O reported some things disingeniously in the past but EVERY newspaper that covers college teams does this at some point. It was bad but certainly there is no reason to harp on it and question everything that is written still today..

There are very few on here that honestly think Refs have it out for us.

Dude, they play to win. Any advantage they can get they take. When the dust settles at the end of the season, it'll usually be those types of teams at the top.

I wish NCSU would learn how to do it. We sure as hell could use more free throw oppertunities.

Personally I blame the refs. I'm not saying they're being paid, because there isn't any evidence of that. I do think they are subpar and could use a lot of training. Wish the ACC or NCAA would do something about that.

^^^^I agree. I wish someone would be able to prove that Duke pays officials. I get tired of hearing it, since everytime Duke plays that criticism comes up. If anyone has the officials in their back pocket, it's UNC. Let's examine this little bit of info: ACC Commisioner (the ref's ultimate boss) is John Swofford, a former UNC QB/LB and Athletics Director. Swofford also has two honorary rooms on the UNC campus. IF there is any slant in the officiating of ACC basketball/football, it is pro UNC. Period.
