"Hey that guy was homeschooled. Was mommy a good math teacher?"

I LOLed, especially after he threw it to the backstop.

Just got this in my email:

Quote :
"

Welcome to Avent's Army sponsered by Sammy's Tap and Grill. Now that you
have enlisted, you are an official member of the first baseball student
cheer section in the ACC! Your goal is to create the ultimate home field
advantage for the Pack!

Each week before a home series, members of Avent's Army will meet at Sammy's
on Avent Ferry Road. At this time, Coach Avent will talk about the upcoming
series and help you come up with a specific cheer sheet for the opponent.
At each of these meetings you will recieve a special $0.38 wing deal as well
as 15% off all other food purchases.

You will soon be issued your official Avent's Army t-shirt, which is to be
worn to as many NC State home baseball games as possible!

Our first meeting and t-shirt distribution will be held on Monday, March 13
at 8:00pm at Sammy's. For those of you who are planning on being at the
Doak Field during Spring Break, you will be able to pick up your t-shirt
between the 1st and 3rd innings of the Friday games (UCLA and Boston
College).

Thanks for enlisting and get ready to wreak havoc on the opposition all
season long!
GO WOLFPACK!!!

i'm kind of torn between going to this and going to the live taping of the Herb Sendek Radio Show. i kind of want to go to the radio show to show Herb some support, but this is the first meeting where they'll explain everything about the club and hand out t-shirts.

i wonder if i could go early to the Avent's Army meeting, and get the down low and t-shirt, then head to the radio show. i don't even care about the free food at the radio show. i just want to go to support herb and see his reaction to some of the calls.

pretty nice turnout. probably around 50 or maybe more people. did anyone notice that #6 Chris House on GT is a freshman, but was born in 1982? he probably won't play, but the Army could rip into him during warmups, haha.

i cant upload anything from here, but imagine red, white, and black camo with 'avents army', 'sammy's tap and grill', and 'wolfpack baseball' on the front in what looks like a little league uniform

on the back, it has the sammy's logo in full force, and it says 'proud sponsors of' WOLFPACK BASEBALL

like that there

eh, it was free - i will definitely feel foolish wearing it, however

we were sitting in one of the booths by the window so we couldn't even hear what was being said on the other side of the place anyways - we got the shirt, ate wings, and left - we weren't the only ones in that boat, hopefully they'll send out an email

plus the wings weren't 38 cents...... they were 48

/cheap

Dan Rosaia, the catcher, cussed us out

The pitching coach dropped the FBOMB many times

Matt Antonelli looked real cute with his mullet/curls

Good times, c'mon out

Avent was like a little soldier when he ripped the ball out of Brackman's hand.

I would like to know the same, because there wasnt much interaction between avent and brackman and avent looked really pissed when he went to pull brackman.

Although, the team didnt look very focused for the first few innings. Corona couldnt catch a cold, we couldnt convert the outs they were giving us on bunts and they kept hitting fucking choppers and beating them out. But if Brackman was drunk, I would like to know...

^He literally ripped the ball out of his hands and didnt say a word, barely even looked at him.

I was like "holy shit, did he really just do that?"

Then he went and stood on the mound with his arms crossed and talked to his infielders.

Brackman walked off the field slightly hunched over and he looked like a sad little kid
