i did that vonage deal where you buy the linksys pap2 voip modem...paid $60 for device, supposed to get $100 after 2 months of service...didn't see anything after 3 months, checked online and they said they never received my stuff (i don't send my rebates via certified mail or anything, but i know i sent it)...anyway, called up vonage and they sent me over to the "resubmission" department (i guess this happens pretty often?)...they were nice, and asked me to fill out some forms, sent those in a week and a half ago, so we'll see

however, best buy was also running another deal where you got a $25 giftcard instantly at purchase, and i used a whole bunch of best buy bucks that i got from buying company equipment (i have a rewardzone account and i'm in charge of purchasing for this small company, so i get all that )...anywho, the voip modem ended up costing something like $5 plus that giftcard...but they still owe me that hundred bucks, so we'll see in a couple of weeks what happens

When people say they've had good experiences with Best Buy... I've had several manufacturer rebates work great on things I purchased at Best Buy, but they don't really have anything to do with whether or not you get that rebate.

Oh and I got my $50 rebate on my Verizon phone no problem... it was an LG. Can't remember if it was a Verizon or LG rebate though.

^ Best buy does a lot of store rebates that do actually come back as checks from best buy. A lot of those slick deal items are items that have BOTH store and manufacturer rebates...

Vonage = bad

I submitted all their rebate paperwork on time. I waited, and waited, and waited some more. They denied my rebate with some bullshit excuse.

I filed a complaint with the BBB. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the time and effort to sue in small claims court.

Don't get screwed. Stay away from Vonage.

^^ i had that problem...they told me to call a bunch of different departments...eventually, they told me i could re-submit, but i had to use an "official" rebate form from the store i bought it from (best buy)...this was SIX MONTHS LATER

what did i do? i found the rebate form for target online, photoshopped the program number on the form, printed it out and resubmitted it (with a doctored receipt as well)...they sent me my $100 check less than a month later

bastards.

PNY +1
Got my rebate on a 2G SD card several (3 or 4) weeks ago...I ordered it and a patriot card around the same time, and I'm still waiting on the patriot rebate.

PNY bought at best buy, but that was a manufacturer's rebate. patriot was bought through newegg, and was also a manufacturer's rebate.

I started this thread because most of the hardware I buy is discounted or comes with the promise of a discount (rebate). Of course some companies are better than others and I don't want to buy something at full price only to realize that the company I bought from is taking advantage of my trust.

I am not sure yet if I fucked myself or if XFX is fucking me, but they just denied 2 separate rebates worth $40 on a vid card.

"

It's possible I screwed myself. I was in Munich when I purchased the card on Dec 2nd. I didn't get back to the States until just before Christmas. Still, I am about 100% certain that I did the rebate work and sent them in in the days after because I was off work the entire week. I'll be able to see what the date stamp is on the images for the UPCs that I scanned when I get home. But I doubt that will help me much in getting this money back.

I dropped the $15 dollar rebate and the $25 dollar off at the same time. I got the email confirmations for them receiving them 10 days apart (on the 17th and the 27th of Jan).

The stupid thing is, I bought a Linksys router 4 days later, dropped that rebate off at the same time, and already received that rebate on Monday.

Well, I think I am proper fucked out of the $40, as there is no real way to prove I got it post marked in time if I did.

I dropped these things off on Dec 29th. Our post office in Holly Springs is open on Saturday mornings, but I suppose they might not have gone through all the mail, in which case it wouldn't have gotten a postmark until the 3rd.

^ i've missed a rebate by doing that before...my solution is that i call up the company, tell them i sent it via certified mail and that i "know" it was sent before the 30 days, and that i "know" they received it...out of 3 or 4 times, they've only once asked for a number, so made one up and i still got my rebate back

that said, this ACP-EP rebate is pissing me off...they SAY to send both rebates (there was one for $20.05 and one for $12.95) in the same envelope...i do that, and they send me the $20.05 one, but then send me a card telling me i have exceeded the maximum number of rebates for a particular item

i was surprised that i got my rebates411.com rebate back...that one was sketch

also, threatening a BBB complaint will sometimes work

It's a site where you can purchase the personal information of OnRebate customers.

i waited 6 mos for mine to come in. every time i called, it was always "in process - waiting for final approval". after calling and bitching for a couple of months, the check finally came. if only you could sue them for being shiesty bastards.
