I totally forgot that JOB was out of his Den Haag contract.

Also, if Tony Meola plays I will go bananas (in a good way).

You forgot to mention ol' Marcus, who is above Howard on the depth chart now as far as I'm concerned since he's playing every week.

Anyone know the deal with general admission? Will I be able to find a spot in a section somewhere, or should I expect to be stuck standing in the concourse behind 10 rows of other "general admission" people? That's how it was for the DC United game there a while ago and I couldn't see a damn thing. As much as I like SAS stadium, I think it's too small for a match like this. And Tony Meola?? Seriously?? I remember cheering for that dude when I was 8.

I don't think the Fed would oversell this game like a venture company might have/did for the DC United game.

The Nats played a game against Richmond at SAS Stadium a few years back with no problems. This game is sort of a "thank you" for the use of the stadium grounds as a training camp for this WC and the last.

Stadium gates open at 5:30. Parking is free, so it should be open all day. Sam's Army tailgate starts around 4:30, so that's a good bet.

I don't care if he plays for the U.S., still chant "Prima Donovan" and "Bianca" when Landon Donovan has the ball.

As of right now, I believe all that's left is standing room only. and that will be first come. Earlier arrivals will have better spots either on concourse or behind goal at scoreboard.

^^^ I won't be purchasing another US jersey until the second goes back to red.

I wasn't aware that Premier had opened a store at Crossroads, though. Good stuff.

Went to the Premier at Crossroads, nothing in red other than training/supporter shirts that were $55.

I guess I should've known that if I wanted one of the snake shirts I should've bought it online a while ago. Meh.

bttt for T-minus 16 hours

almost gametime!!!

the headline on ussoccer.com is Cary-bbean Countdown... lol

some random facts from the story:
- all of the eighteen guys the US is dressing tonight are MLS guys
- Pablo Mastroeni, a State alum, is on tonight's list
- the US is 9-0-7 all time against the Jamaicans

also, for you uniform freaks out there, we're breaking out the aformentioned new Nike home kits this evening

I think it's 7000 seats and they sold some standing-only tickets too.

The all-whites versus the all-blacks.

Trinidad's soccer team in the past has been like Jamaica, pretty much 100% black. After the hiring of a new coach a few games into the last of the World Cup qualifiers, a white player in the English third division turns out had his mother born in Trinidad after a search by a Trinidad player for some new blood on the team. He goes out and plays, plays well, is easy to pick out on the pitch, and has played himself into their World Cup team. The Trinidad fans have given him the affectionate nickname "that white boy".
