i honestly want herb gone. and i don't want to hear any 'good recruiting' bullshit. matt doherty was a good recruiter too. but if we couldn't pull off a win against carolina this year, after all they lost, we never will again. ever. herb cannot beat roy. that's just simple. i remember about 5 years ago when herb was on the chopping block and one of the leading candidates was pitino, probably tied w/ roy williams as the 2nd best bball coach in the nation, behind krzyzewski [and i foresee the last sentence sparking a great new argument]. he saved his job by getting commitments from hodge and josh powell. oh, and by lee fowler being a eunuch. i've been a state fan all my life, and the last time we weren't just mediocre i was 5 months old and we won the national championship. since then, nc state athletics has been the definition of mediocrity: occasional flashes of brilliance [see george washington game] surrounded by embarassing fuck-ups [iowa, seton hall, last night, etc], all in all amounting to a season where we end up ranked around 20th, and until we're willing to shell out the money for a top coach, that's where we're gonna stay.

now, all that being said, go to saturday's game if you got a ticket. if you didn't, try to get one. if you got one and don't go, you should have your ticket rights removed. forever. even from buying them. carolina fans dont go to games when their team is on a down-swing. we go, we cheer, we stay til 0:00 [although the last was disappointingly less true last night]

i wouldn't go to the games if the rest of the wolfpack nation wouldn't go as well in order to make a statement that herb needs to go. people still go to games so eunuch fowler keeps him around.

no ticket sales equals no herb.

but that's not the case, b/c so many unfortunate souls still think herb's gonna lead us to the big one. soooo, i'll go to the games. i'll cheer. but i'll never get too excited again as long as herb's here.

and man i wish he'd prove me wrong.

^and omg yea no one cares what he thinks b/c he's a n00b and doesnt spend all his life on tww even tho he's been a fan his entire life!!!!1 just like me, i've grown up going to state games. 21 years of mediocrity and i tend to get sick of it. the kids who think their state fans b/c they've followed the pack for four years or so are the n00bs.

Do you follow college basketball? Yes Seton Hall and last night were bad. Iowa was not bad. We lost by 3 on the road to the Big 10 leader right now. BTW the Big 10 is the top conference in basketball this year. You know what Iowa's record is at home? Look it up.

Surely you're joking, right? I mean it's not even close. Not only does the Big East have better top teams, but they are much deeper. Hell, even St. Johns gives people good games. Notre Dame is 4-9 and they can beat any team in the country on any night.

Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Illinois are all nice teams but certainly nothing to go crazy about..

oh and btw Seton Hall, with a win in the BE tourney will likely get a NCAA bid..

Big Ten is top team by Conference RPI. From top to bottom they are the best. If the Big East didn't have 1000000 teams it might be the best, but Depaul and South Florida really water it down.

DePaul has a better RPI then Penn State...

1. Big Ten 173 94 .5879 2 .5889
2. Big East 247 142 .5886 1 .5834

The ONLY reason that is the case if ONE team. USF is a sub-230 RPI team that drages the rest of the conference down. I'll take Louisville and ND (two bottom tier Big East teams) over the bottom tier B10 teams any day of the week.

I really don't see any defense of the Big Ten being the best conference. I'm not trying to be difficult but I just don't see it..
