well, i thought the steelers might take sinorice moss with their first pick, until i read this:
Quote : | "Drew Rosenhaus represents three players in this year's draft and all three -- Michigan defensive lineman Gabe Watson and Miami Hurricanes offensive lineman Eric Winston and receiver Sinorice Moss. All three ran and worked out and really enhanced their position in the draft. Vikings owners, brothers Zygi and Mark Wilf, were also in attendance at the Combine this weekend." |

^three seems low for drew this year
maybe the owens thing hurt his credibility and image a bit
only 2 out of 11 of the canes at the combine too....drew may be in a slump 2/27/2006 6:16:07 PM |

of course the owens thing hurt his credibility, how is that even a question?
i would be very reluctant to deal with him if i were an NFL team right now
i liked the idea of the steelers drafting moss too, so that's a shame.

will teams want mario to maybe drop 7 to 10 lbs. for the nfl?? 297 is pretty heavy and his numbers as far as jumps, quicks, etc. could improve just a little maybe if he was say 287-290
maybe not, i am just wondering what yall think 2/27/2006 9:59:36 PM |

I dont know... at 6'7 i think they'll like him at 300.
In general, the heavier the better as long as its not affecting your speed/quickness too much.
In Mario's case it doesnt seem to be hampering any in those departments...
He's not a pure speed rusher like a Jevon Kearse so i dont really expect him to produce huge numbers his rookie year... he's gonna have to learn technique because strength/speed alone wont make you an impact player as a rookie DE. I'd guess he puts up 6-8 sacks next year and makes the all-rookie team... 2/27/2006 10:03:42 PM |

he's just a bit unlucky to be coming out the same year as a freakish RB and two of the best QB prospects in the past decade. 2/28/2006 8:24:17 AM |

just got this quote from the Southern Cal message boards
"Said he has fielded some questions about being born cross-eyed, and the surgery to correct it as a child."
This was referring to Matt Leinart. Do NFL teams really care that much about something that stupid? What do they think; that his eyes are going to go cross-eyed again and ruin his career?? 2/28/2006 10:49:16 AM |

Quote : | "Vince Young scored a 6 on his wonderlic test. The wonderlic test is comprised of 50 questions, and is used to determine intelligence, personality, ans psychological health. Now this probably means nothing to many people, but luckily, I have some sample questions straight from the wonderlic website. Question 1: When rope is selling at $.10 a foot, how much rope can you buy with $.60? Question 2: Paper sells for $.21 per pad, how much would 4 pads cost? Question 3: Assume the first 2 statements are true. Is the final one: 1. True 2. False 3. Not Certain The boy plays baseball. All baseball players wear hats. The boy wears a hat. Now I like Vince Young, and i was his biggest fan when Texas played USC. But how can you expect a franchise to spend money on an idiot, even with his brilliant performance in the Rose Bowl. Quarterback is not just a position that takes skill, it also takes intelligence, and right now it appears that Vince Young lacks one of these gifts. When this story first leaked, Vince's agent quickly tried to implement damage control. First he said the test was scored wrong, then he had Vince take the test again and the agent boasted that he scored a 16. WOW. When an agent brags about a 16 on this shit test it really makes me wonder who the idiot is here. Vince will be taking the test for a third time and i'm sure a gold star is in his future. Other scores include a 35 by USC qb Matt Leinart, a 29 by Vanderbilt qb Jay Cutler, and a 6 by Miami rb Frank Gore. Football players aren't known for their brains, but when an autistic kid can inspire us with 20 points in a basketball game, i expect a little more than a 6 from some people on an idiot test." |

not sure if this was said because I skipped to the end... but a lot of the discussion focus'd on the fact that a lot of agents dont even impress upon draft guy's the importance of the test. They said a lot fo times people just sit in the room for the 12 minutes and laugh, This could be why people are getting 0-6's.
I can't imagine any human being that can speak english trying their hardest and only getting 6 right.
most of them dont realize people give a shit about this test.
ps it's 50 questions in 12 minutes.
oh and ... OH MY Manny Lawson NC State 4.43

that's not really the point.
the point is that young's agent is bragging about a 16 when most of us took 2-3 minutes on the first 15 questions and missed maybe 1.
That means over the next 10 minutes we'd have to succesfuly navigate 1 more question to tie. This is what people are concerned about.2/28/2006 1:42:08 PM |
