Yep... I've been watching most of the games though.. Beckett looks like he might just fulfill his promise this year finally... and Papelbon is just the best closer in baseball.

I can't believe they almost blew the game today. Would've sucked for Wakefield to pitch 8 scoreless innings, get a 5 run cushion, and end up with a no-decision. With Papelbon and Foulke resting, why didn't they just let him go all 9 innings?

One of Sportscenter's top stories today was another "Manny being Manny" tale, this one about him so upset this past weekend about a base hit taken away from him (instead charged as an error to Jeter) that he decided he wanted to sit out against the Angels last night. So they were recapping that game, talking about how the Sox were down 1 run in the 9th with 2 outs. Youkilis was the final out, batting 4th in the lineup, where Manny would have been. They basically single-handedly blamed Manny for the loss, which is nothing new for espn. What really got me was they completely ignored the fact that Manny pinch hit to start the 9th, and even came close to hitting a game-tying homerun.

God damn I hate espn.
