it's funny though, the show didn't even really show that much of the actual battle.

i thought it was the cost of producing Taken that caused Farscape to get canned

I don't know, this director seems to have a knack for doing things on the cheap and merely using it to add to the atmosphere. The set design/construction costs of BSG have to be significantly less than farscape. Costumes? Beyond basic wardrobe, there really aren't any elaborate costumes for this series. I mean, people mostly wear normal clothes and jumpsuits will slight alterations to make them BSG'ish. I bet this series costs either about the same or maybe even a little less per ratings point than farscape did. They spend most of their money on the cast and not the props and background.

From my understanding, Sky One (UK TV station) splits the cost of production. I know season one was. From what I've seen, BSG is doing great overseas.

^ Sky did split the costs with them the first season, but Sci Fi took on all the production costs from then on

and yeah, these producers are notorious for doing stuff on the cheap... that's why you hardly see any space battles/shots.... because that shit costs $$$$$

Weren't there HD rips from Skyone floating around a while back?

Those seemed to be hard to find this past season. Why doesn't Sci-Fi broadcast in HD?

^^Probably wasn't HD, that's only just now being introduced into SKY. However British televisions/broadcasts have had better picture quality/pixel count than the US for a while for some reason, which is why HD has taken so long to be introduced, its not as big of a leap up.

They film it in HD, so I have no idea why they don't broadcast it that way.

Yep... it seems most of season one was available in HD on Skyone (with the AC3 soundtrack, but I think was still only stereo).

They need to give me something, like the second half of season 2 on DVD. Otherwise I don't think I can make it until then.

I dunno, I rather like the midseason break. It keeps (what has been up to this point) the suspense going. I say drag it out for a while and keep people coming back.

eureka seems decently funny so far..
the stargates are always decent to watch..

but they don't even compare to bsg...I mean hell, even the nickleback song seemed good when matched with bsg

Stargate, in both forms, has become extremely cheesy. It's still entertaining.

BSG is a completely different kind of sci-fi show.

^yep, during the premiere of Eureka, they showed a 1 or 2 minute teaser of Season 3. I can't find it anywhere on the net right now, so it seems if you missed it you are out of luck. But it should pop up somewhere.

And after seeing it I cannot wait till October. Thank the gods i got DVR! That trailer was beyond exicting, it seems to be taking the series to a whole nother level of drama and plot twists. I mean that was sooo extraordinary, it made that Nickelback song work and made it cool to listen too.

serial.

Shitty song, but <3 the teaser.

Kara has a kid? Oh no, this is probably a result from that episode The Farm, isn't it?

Well there's no telling how much cylon baby technology has advanced- for all we know, they birthed hers right after that crazy-ass episode. I think they'll pick it up right where they left off, about a year after the decision to build a home on that crazy planet. That'd make her kid about 2 or 3 by then, I'd wager. But I have no fucking clue.

Soundtracks can be found at Lalaland Records. Bear McCreary had been signing copies for a while, but I doubt they still have any more.

I have both season 1 and 2 now and they are outstanding. "Passacaglia" (season 1) is hands down my favorite so far.
