And so continues the trend of us laying eggs right when there is a glimmer of hope..... Did you really think this team this year would be the one to end it? I sure hope you didnt fool yourself... At least the youngin's played with heart today (minus brackman who obviously is not returning)... props to grant (who took major heat on these boards) , Ced (who was overmathced all by himself but has come so far and has room to grow) & Fells (who if learns to play D will be a baller).

I WILL MISS YOU CAM! Shout from one Gboro born and bred to another.... He was our best at the end of this year!

can you guys please wait until the season is over to complain. i mean the team hasn't even gotten back to raleigh yet. anything can happen. you never know, the plane might land in Indy giving us a trip to the site of the final four. i'm going to be laughing at all of you shitty nc state fans when the ncaa finds violations on the 16 remaining teams and names the Pack national champs. what will all of you say about herb then?

Only once higher than a 7 seed
Only one Sweet 16
No championships of any kind
10 or more losses every year
13-61 against the RPI top 25 (8-26 over the last five "great" years)
Out of the 17 coaches in ACC history who coached a decade or more, only Herb Sendek and Bill Gibson did not win an ACC regular season or tournament championship or advance to the Elite 8

...but hey, if that's good enough for you folks, great.

I don't blame Evtimov.

He tries... it's up to the coach to realize he's not a very good player, and has actually managed to get worse his 5 years at NC State.


At least we didn't play him down low much tonight. Him trying to guard Eric Williams one-on-one was the biggest joke in the history of college basketball

Especially when you have absolutely no history in it.

We should expect to be good in basketball. We've perennially been terrible at football, and it's a lot harder/takes a lot more time to build a football program

you are confused. the only thing that should take a long time in any sport is establishing recruiting and getting your own players. amato did this immediately. unfortunately, once philip left it has become clear that it takes more than a good recruiting class to win a football game.

I think this is as far as Sendek can possibly take our team. If he stays we'll be having our hopes raised and then crushed next year, the year after that and so on. Over the course of the last decade Herb has actually done a decent job building the program, but he doesn't have what it takes to take the next step. A great coach may be all that's needed to join Duke and UNC at the top, or to possibly displace one of them.
