proof by repeated assertion. Now why don't you address the actual fact that someone willing and able to sacrifice more for NCSU athletics is a better fan than someone who is able but not willing to sacrifice for ncsu athletics?

I'm comfortable with saying there's way more people out there who are better, more dedicated fans than I am. Herb-supporting jews who have don't have anything at stake are not among them.

Of course coach K is going to praise Herb and petition for him to stay here for eternity, he enjoys beating him like a teenager versus a 1st grader. Just a question because I haven't looked it up, but when was K's 9th season, certainly wasn't 83-84 (4th at most I believe) as the article is referencing. I believe Duke's program in the late 70's wasn't in shambles like Sendek's was when he took over, so that's worth mentioning, in year 5, not year 9. However, I don't recall anyone (and no your local rec center director doesn't count) griping until after year 5. K saying he doesn't talk to those Iron Duke's is what people hate about him in a nutshell. There are some people out there that have so much passion for their university and care about losing that they say things about a coach but they really aren't trying to attack the man, just the method.

Now I understand that Duke and UNC are dominant and we shouldn't waste our time trying to compete with them historically (and apparently not on the court) BUT off the top of my head G Tech, Maryland, and BC have all had better success in the ACC and NCAA tourney's combined. And Gary is the only one with longer tenure (check Skinner, but pretty sure he's been there as long or shorter than Sendek.) All in all, no reason for those three programs to have more success than we do in year 9.

^ correct, but Gary has a ring, and an ACC championship. Hewit (although Sendek personally has owned) has made it just as far as we have in the ACC tourney and has a Championship game appearance. I'll take a ring and three years in the crapper (Maryland). I'd even take a ring and 6 subpar seasons. You'd have the most national championships in a few decades (UCLA?). And Hewit's future looks bright with no seniors and some McD's players coming in.

Well then K really did have a good reason to be upset, calling him out after year 2 is ridiculous, even well into the 21st century revolving door of coaching. I really don't think anyone started to gripe until about year 5 here, and certainly not after 3. Don't say well my senile great gradnfather hated him in year 1 as a defense.

I dont think it makes a difference how much money you give. Some people dont have the means to give millions, so they give what they can because they care about the program. There's nothing wrong with that, and they have as much right to bitch about something they dont like as anyone else.

People DONT have the right to embarass the coach in public in front of his players. People DONT have the right to threaten the coach. People DONT have the right to compromise the integrity of the university because they dont like the coach. None of this includes stating your opinion about something shitty on a message board, where everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Get off your high horse. Some people are happy with the program. Some arent. Their financial status has no effect on anything.

did you even read his post? he was responding to someone that called him a "fan"

if you give money to a program, it pretty much automatically makes you a fan, and the man had given money to the program and someone was challenging whether or not he was a fan or not. I really don't see what's so hard to comprehend about this.

I was more refering to the arog dude but I hadnt read all of their posts.


Either way, the money doesnt matter. I havent given money to the school, but i've spent a lot of time supporting NC State athletics in order to be close to the action in football and basketball cause i'm a wolfpack club douche bag When I see our team play like they did against UNC for example, I feel cheated because it seemed like I wanted them to win more than they did.


The only people that dont have a right to voice their opinion are the ones who only come around when we're winning. I'm gonna stick around even for the bad seasons, but I'm gonna get pissed when I see a lack of effort and fundamentals.

If any of you actually think that K isn't always acting to preserve his best interests, and is just saying this because he really thinks Herb is a good coach...this school needs to up its admissions criteria.

I'm almost certain that K and Dean Smith came out in support of Les Robinson shortly before he resigned. Too bad we didn't listen to them, eh?

Sendek has banked millions of dollars off NC State and its fans. I have a hard time mustering up any sympathy for him.
