you should have just spent like $40 and got a set of steelies with hubcaps. 4X100 is very common.

I'm not sure, it was my dad that called the place and relayed the info to me. I can ask him later for more details. It seems unlikely that ALL of them are bent, but I guess they could be. So $100 is too much? Any of you guys willing to do it for less?

You need to replace the bent wheels. I bet, that if you are at a shop, you are replacing one wheel for $100.
Steel wheels can be had for about $30 a piece, and alloys can be had for $80 and up in most cases.
People would just need to source wheels. If you source the wheel, I can swap the tires for free (a Nerdchick special)

Does your car's wheels look like this?

baonest got it. They match the pic Nerdchick posted on page 1, plus that's the correct wheel for a '91 EX. The one MaximaDrvr posted is a '93 SE.

where'd you take it? I could probably get you those wheels for cheaper than 100 each. let me know if you have anymore problems with it and i'll get you to come up to my shop and i'll take a look at it for you.

So I just talked to my dad and got the full report. All 4 wheels are bent, some worse than others. My dad wants to buy 2 steel from a junkyard ($50 each) and have the shop put the good steel ones in front, and the 2 least bent alloy in back. This seems to be the most cost effective way to solve the problem.

Thoughts? Is it okay to have 2 steel and 2 alloy rims on the same car? Anybody with a tire changing machine wanna hook me up? I'll make sure to save the old alloy wheels in case you guys still want them.

It is going to look wierd to have steelies in the front and alloys in the back. Just get 4 steelies if you are going to do that.

If you get the wheels, I will put them all on for less than 1/4 what that shop will charge.

^^ ha ha, look at the picture of my car posted on page 1

cosmetic issues are not my biggest concern. I'm just wondering if maybe the steel being heavier will make a difference or anything. Btw, can you change the tires too?

yeah, I can do all of it.

There won't be a noticable difference between the steel and alloy wheels. Just looks, and some durability.

my 2004 dodge stratus has been doing the same thing - i got the wheels balanced last week and it doesnt help, I get up to 35 and it gets worse, I hit 60 and its horrible, I hit the breaks and I feel like I'm going to wreck - I'm not sure why a new car would do this, and I really don't have the money to get it fixed or even looked at, but its really weird that the car does this

get your wheels re-weighed, any smart fucking technician can easily tell if the rim is bent on a wheel balancing machine.

so I got some used wheels, from a Prelude. They look really nice on my car, IMO, and make it look marginally less ghetto. However they are pretty dirty, I tried to clean them today. Had moderate success with a scrub pad and dish soap, but the dirt is really caked on in places, especially the hard to reach areas like corners and around the lug nuts.

Does anybody know of a good product for cleaning wheels, or a good brush, or should I just continue to scrub with the green pad. thanks

btw they are these wheels

yeah the steering wheel no longer shakes with the new rims. The Blingmobile is back in business!

I also decided not to get the Civic VX that I was looking at, I really like it but I can't justify the purchase since the Accord is fine

Hell, I got a gallon of black paint and a spray gun I'll let you use.

Of course, you'd have to help me paint this:

Oh well. I don't have any of that. I do have a really neat ruby sapphire pearl color...and some white. Could mix it all together and see what happens.

see if I painted the rusty fender, I'd have to replace the 2 dented doors, and the front bumper, and re-paint the fading paint panels

apparently a lot of Accords that year had a paint defect, but Honda would only repaint the hood. So all my other panels have the paint coming off

see how the problem grows! Too much $$ for a purely cosmetic issue.

No, No. You're blowing this way out of proportion. You don't have to be such a perfectionist.

The whole point is to get the whole car one color (or at least a couple of colors that don't blatantly clash).

That does not entail making everything perfect.

Enough paint to do one fender would be less than 20 bux.

Well, get a Memorial Day bow or something. Drape a flag across the hood so it looks like a military casket or something.

I had Dr. Tu

he sucked at teaching but gave multiple choice tests and a healthy curve. Unfortunately this class seems to be important later on

It's great. I really enjoyed learning how to model multiple-degree-of-freedom spring-mass-damper systems.

Brush up on your MATLAB or Maple...learn to model in that using the 4th/5th order Runge-Kutta numerical method of solving diff eq's...

Good shit.
