Beilein has been the closest though.

- With Barnes...he thought about it hard, but never gave us any indication that he was really going to take it.

- With Calipari, he told us he was probably going to take the job, but had to go back to Memphis and have one last discussioin with the family and his advisors.

- With Beilein, he said he was going to take it, we had contracts being drawn up, then that fucking buyout clause came back to bite us in the ass. WRAL was going to run a story yesterday on their 5o'clock news about Beilein being our new coach and got a call at 4:30 pm telling them to take it off, that the contract fell through.

We'll probably have our next candidate sign contracts and have him die in a car wreck on the way to the press conference.

Oh yeah...I just read that.

From my understanding, we were going to pay half and Beilein was going to pay half. The WVU was like..."not so fast, the contract says that Beilein has to pay it all." Which means we would have had to give Beilein more than the 1.5 million because gift taxes would have been added own. Fowler apparently got cheap and drew the line at 1.5 mil and said he wasn't going to go above that. Beilein said fuck it and peace out.
