i agree with rally

Bridget

try to pay more attention to him.

last thing i remember fromt he texas game was ced getting the rebound inside of 3 big texas defenders, wiggling through them without traveling (must know where that pivot is) and then flushing it down.

and that was just one of his sick plays.

dude is a beast. if he gets into an offense where he doesnt sit at the top of the key any shooters we have are going to be at an immediate advantage, and anyone dumb enough to 1 on 1 him in the post is going to lose.

yeah, the more I think of it, the more I realize that his only PROBLEMS were 1). Getting knocked off the block and 2). Getting double teamed when he put the ball on the floor.

Other than that, it was pure inexperience and a shitty offense.

yeah he would take a bit too much time sometimes and put it on the floor when he shouldnt.

other than that he just needs more attempts at getting position on the block so he gets better at it. He spent too much time out of the paint to get any kind of rythm down to posting up. I think he is strong enough.

I really hope he stays, he could dominate in the league, but they did say a while back that his grandfather is having some issues and by going to the nba would help him out with that.

cut him some slack..look at the improvement he had from his freshman year to his sophomore year playing in herb's system. IF we get calipari, it will only lead to bigger and better things for him.

^^hence, the last 3/4'ths of the conversation has been about that.

I dont even think he's that bad at getting position....he knows what to do, he just gets knocked out by the bigger players.

give that "we cant find a new coach" bullet some more time there Panthro. we've had what, ONE coach turn us down? and its been a pretty short amount of time

I think he's gonna stay.

Especially if we get Calamari.

thats funny...the thing i remember was how he couldnt get a rebound all game because he is literally the worst rebounder ever for a player with a 7'4" wingspan...and i really hope he stays at state

As long as he doesn't hire an agent he can test the waters of the NBA and still come back which I am pretty sure is what he is doing. Also, him leaving for the NBA wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea because he could be one those players drafted on potential due to his size.

I understand that, but he needs to do a lot more than just gain 20 lbs to get better at getting position.

just look at hansbrough

he doesnt need more weight to get good position.

ced is strong enough, he just needs consistent shots at post play.

He should put on some mass, but his main weakness this year was not fighting hard enough for position. He could stop anyone if he won the position battle, when he got scored on it was because he let Sheldon or someone else post up too close.

Additionally, he can stand to improve his midrange jumper a bit, because he will be a 4, not a 5 in the NBA.

Ced will make it like halfway into the season before being shipped off to the D and he is never heard of again.

Yes. And if he bolts, we will have to start McCauley/Brackman in the middle. Not bad, but not good enough for NCAA material.

Pretty much sums up about how I feel about him. 6 rebounds a game is absurd. Todd Fuckin Fuller averaged almost 11 rebounds his last two years here and he got picked 11th in the draft.

If Ced leaves now he could go UNDRAFTED.

Another year or two he could develop into a mid-first rounder, possibly higher. Remember he grew up playing on dirt courts, and came in very raw.

Ced has a lot of potential...but he could really use some development.

Get the right coach in here, and maybe he'd be an All-American before he graduates.

What do you mean, the post man isn't supposed to play at the top of the key every play?

If ced leaves now his career will go the way of Lonnie Baxter from Maryland a few years ago. 6-9 center without all that many moves as far as pro's go. Look at the centers in the nba. kg, nowitski, shaq, i know kg is a foward but he is still 7 ft and has crazy moves. Lebron James is 6'8" and can handle the ball better than the majority of the NBA. ced needs to stick around and develop a mid range jump. Without that he wont stand a chance at the next level.

talk some fucking sense into him
he is not ready and will be pushed around on the next level unless he gains a solid 15 lbs or so.

Cedric's father is disabled. They have no money. This is the weakest draft in years.

weak draft or not, if he leaves now, he could go undrafted....make, what 100K a year? overseas?

if he stays, even one more year he'd be a multi-millionare...then he could help his family out for real.
