well low and behold a tar heel calls in and acts like a douche. could we expect better? it seems unlikely. herb was a good coach. many of the fans supported him fully. i know i did. but that didn't keep me from seeing problems in the offense we ran. i saw the good things too though. he took a job elsewhere. he had the full backing from the athletic department and the faculty here. jeez, you throw me a 50% increase in pay ($800k --> $1.2 Million) and you best believe i'm piecing out. he said that every time we were good we had coaches (Case, Sloan, Valvano) that recruited players that caused us to go on probation. i don't remember hearing us going on probation during the Case years. if so well it would be the first time i heard about it. the DT probation was b/c Dean reported that one of our assistants played in a pickup game with him during our recruiting. wow, what a dirty tactic. Dean was just mad that he didn't get him. for Valvano, the biggest thing was that our graduation levels weren't outstanding, and that some players sold some free shoes that a local shoe store owner gave them, without V's knowledge. get your facts straight you Tar Heel fuck!

it's not like we're Clemson or FSU who has little to no tradition, and are not in such a competitive 30 mile radius. we brought herb in to bring up the program. he did that. but after we got to the tournament, we want to try to gradually progress farther, and continue to improve our seeding. that didn't happen. we somewhat stalled. i was happy with the team's performance overall, but i won't deny that at certain times our team looked terrible. idk why this happened, but we'd go on a little streak of playing bad, and usually that was at the worst time. some of that can be attributed to our bad fortune with injuries. bottom line is Herb is a class act, and Rome needs to shut up about how our fans didn't know how good we had it. a very large portion, perhaps even the majority of our fans supported him fully in public.
