NO ITS TOO BORING! WHO CARES IF WE CHANGE TO IT AND WIN. WE GOT TO 5 STRAIGHT NCAAS BECAUSE WE CHANGED OFFENSES AND YET PEOPLE HATED IT!

/rant.

But yeah some people arguing for Gillispie will bitch when we win games in the 50s.

Of course you would know that if you watched him coach any at A&M or UTEP.

I'd be all for gillispie considering his success and turnaround at TAMU.

I just don't want our fan base to split like it did with herb and I think it would be much more likely if we bring in anyone with a low scoring offense.

^^I hear you, but slowness wasn't the major problem with the princeton in the fans eyes, I don't think. It was just another thing to complain about. Rick Barnes runs a slow offense, but people weren't going to complain about him.

We don’t express these sentiments out of frustration for Calipari’s rejection of NC State. We say this because of they way that all of this went down. We also hope that our leaders at NC State take advantage of the opportunity to publicly call out Calipari for his behavior during the conversations - what the hell do you have to lose? "

The league source said Barakat and "everyone" at State had been extremely optimistic about landing Calipari when the day began.

Do some fucking research people.

His teams at UTEP scored a lot of points!!!!

He took over a team that was 0-16 in the Big 12. You think he had enough talent to run with teams in the Big 12?? He slowed it down much like Herb did when he first got here and had ZERO talent....limit the number of possessions, hope you're close when the game is near the end, and hope your guys can make plays.

I seriously doubt he'd run a slow down offense with the players we have here (if they don't all leave...damnit).

Wasn't his UTEP team top 10 in the nation in scoring one year?

Seems like I remember hearing that somewhere

Haha I was joking about Billy Tubbs.

But you know what now that I think about it, he is WAYYYY better than who we are looking at. He had some good teams at Oklahoma and TCU. I think he is at Lamar now.

But he has like 600 career wins. Might be a little old, good short term replacement.

Billy Tubbs, king of the "mad comb over".

Since we're stuck in "I Love the 80's", I cast my vote for Eddie Sutton. Think about it, as a recruiter he knows how to get the cash into the players hands (reference UK and the "FedEx incident) and, when the team wins, drinks are on him!!!

Well I did some searching. Tubbs is AD and head coach at Lamar, which is his alma mater.

I dunno if he would leave there. But I personally would approve of him.

"Prior to TCU, Tubbs spent 14 years as the head coach at the University of Oklahoma. He led the Sooners to the NCAA championship game in 1988 and posted a 333-132 (.716) record. He took OU to nine NCAA Tournaments and four NITs during his tenure, including a streak of six straight "Sweet 16" appearances from 1985-90. He was named Big Eight Coach of the Year four times (1984, 1985, 1988, 1989) and earned Basketball Weekly National Coach of the Year honors in 1983 and 1985."

Damn 6 straight Sweet 16s and a NC game appearance.

Why in the fuck is he at Lamar even if it is his Alma Mater.

hell yeah, I've got an idea. Is Quick's sister available? We can hire her and she can FDT during the games to distract the other teams so we can score. This wouldn't work against the tarholes but it sounds like a pretty good idea to me.

I know he isn't well liked but why not Steve Lavin?

How about Fran Fraschilla? Either one of those two would work for me over a Brady or Haith.

We haven't looked in the Big Ten yet. Thad Matta would be worth pursuing if he didn't have an awesome class coming next year. Only been at OSU for two years, though.

NC State has never hired a "big name" in either sport as coach. Offer 500k a year to Sean Miller.

we've already gotten our name out there in the last 5 years and we are a more appealing school. i dont think that a big name coach is what we have to have. i think a young coach like marshall will be able to step in with our already good talent and incomning recruiting class and be able to be effective.

what makes me agnry about John Calimari is if he knew he wasn't going to accept a job here why'd he allow us to wine and dine him with state money. That could have paid some poor students tuition for a year.

Also I wouldn't be mad if we selected an interim coach becuase getting another mediocore coach would suck as we'd be stuck with them for the next 10 years.

^If you think that was State money, I really feel sorry for you.

If we are having trouble hiring a new "permanent" coach, what makes you think someone would come here as an "interim". We aren't searching for a pastor, we are looking for a basketball coach. The only time you have an interim coach in college basketball is if a head coach abruptly leaves or is fired midseason or just before the season starts. We aren't even past the middle of April...
